I've been trying for some time to program a playable version of Gemedet.... I was wondering if anyone knew if stones in a row of six count if the row is diagonal.

There are so incredibly many ways to win the game diagonally. Consider this: If only vertical, horizontal, and 'depthical' rows are counted, that would mean that from one stone, the row could extend in 6 directions. Adding the ability to win diagonally means that the row could extend in 26 directions. This makes the game almost mind-blowingly complicated, which could be a major hinderance to gameplay or possibly simply something attributed to the D'ni's higher ability to comprehend 3-dimensional spaces.

This could be something I missed in the books or it could be that it wasn't included... if indeed it wasn't included, perhaps we could figure out whether it ought to be or not and send it in as a canonization suggestion.
