Uh, is there a way I can have this off so I don't have to listen to people talk through voice chat?

lol, its not that i hate it, im deaf myself so when i come across someone with their voice chat on i cant exactly understand them, the only thing i hear is that they're talking... also some people are a tad inconsiderate and only like pipe music through it rather than talking

Doesn't the Ignore feature work for turning them off?

Even if it does, it's not a good solution. (afaik it's still bugged though).
What if you don't want to actually ignore these people, just don't want to hear them speaking?

If you go to your game settings (the wrench symbol)...
you can go to audio settings and turn it off.

Just take the "X" off of the option to turn it off.

AFAIK that's only for using voice chat yourself, not listening to it.

Kind of stupid to have an enable/disable option only for ones own voice chat. to me that does not makes sense. It should apply to ALL voice chat.

Enough people shared your view for it to now be a feature request.

There's a mute button on the KI which I would assume would block out voice chat, but also everything else.

Exactly. There are ways that (if they work :P) would also block out voicechat, but that would make you miss out on other things as well. I might sometimes not want to hear voicechat, but I will still want to hear other sounds, and no, I don't want to put people on ignore just so I don't have to listen to their voice (or their static :P). Ignore list is for people who are so horrible that you don't want anything to do with them.

For some, maybe it's like having to listen to people on cell phones when there's nothing you can do about it. When the concert hall opens, I can just see the signs outside saying, "Please respect others' enjoyment of the show. Turn off your KI." ;)

I don't particularly want to stop voice chat but I often find it hard to hear because of static. This leads to my missing part of the conversation and sometimes leaves me looking stupid. I don't suppose that it would be possible to show their words on the screen - but that might help.

Sadly not until voice recognition software gets about ten thousand times better than it currently is.

Although it wouldn't be as hard to go the other way -- make the text chat vocalised. That could get annoying though.
