I just installed Windows vista and now it wont work with URU Live, sent the dump file etc, I was wondering if anyone was having this problem and if so how they solved it.

Also when I filled out my game tap account and downloaded it to install it says :you must be logged on as admin" Vista does not have that option, just asking, Thanks Dusty

GameTap doesn't yet work with Vista. IIRC support for that starts the same time we go live.

Yes, Gametap is going to be releasing a Vista-enabled client on the 15th.

Also I had the same stackdump problem with Uru on Vista. I sent my logs into support so hopefully they'll get a bead on that soon.

Also just for future reference.. while Vista does not have a "log in as admin" option you can run specific programs as admin. Right click on their icons, hit properties, go to the compatibility tab, and you'll see a checkbox at the bottom marked "Run program as administrator". Check that, and the program will be granted administrator access.

The only luck I ever had in getting Uru to run in Vista was with the stand-alone client running in 'Windows 98/SE' compatibility mode.

The new computer I'm building will be running on Vista. Luckily I probably won't have it up and running until thursday or so in which case the official Vista supporting release will be out...

The Gametap official Vista release will be out on Thursday but there is no timeline right now for Uru Vista compatibility. It could be tomorrow or it could be next year.

I STRONGLY suggest you do what I did and arrange an XP/Vista dual-boot arrangement until Vista's a little more supported by.. well.. everything.

I had the same problem the other day. So do I need to go through the subscription/download process all over again on the 15th? Or do I install the same file I downloaded to my desktop (the one that doesn't work right now)?

Given the fact that that install is not a Vista-compatable install, I'd say you should go to www.gametap.com/reinstall on the 15th. This should give you a direct link to the client. And that version should work.

Just a reminder that you still need an active username... :)

I wouldn't be suprised if there's been some confusion about this in GameTap's past.
