Maybe a good way to make Jalak more successful (and even just a bit of success would be "more") would be:

- create a public instance of the Age
- move the link-in point to the grass ledges, so that new arrivals won't disrupt games in progress
- add a way to walk between ledges, and from the ledges to the playing field
- maybe add small gates that regulate access to the playing field itself
- enable the special KI controls only for avatars on the playing field (could this be done?)

Do you think it could work better than the current version?

I think all of those ideas would help make it better. In addition, I'd like to see the playing field enlarged from its current 5X5 grid to 25X25, or even more. Then we could make some neat mazes.

Proper stadium seating instead of inaccessible curved walls.

Making a public copy makes it easier to get to. It is small and would probably handle a decent size crowd before it lags out.

Moving the link point would improve competitive game play. Having someone pop into the middle of a close game is a bummer.

Allowing the audience to move around would make it easier for friends to get together. Also if a 25x25 grid were used, it would let people move to see better.

Controlling access to the play area could be good. It would prevent someone from interrupting the game.

Limiting control of the play field to those on the field makes sense to me.

I think the changes would improve Jalek because the changes are about player ease of use. These are all things I think would be popular. Basic stadium design in RL shows us what works and what people like. These changes bring those basics to Jalek.

Now some type of persistent scoreboard... for some glory.

Yeah, those things confuse me. They're shaped like the kind of thing you'd expect for distant stadium stands... except they're simply not distant at all. I'm at a loss as to how they were actually used.

D'ni crawld up the walls and scrambled into the weeny little windows... That or used flymode to get on top. I'm betting flymode. Everyone knows, the D'ni were haxxors.
