But then you should’ve been able to use my wrappers without iTunes, since I don’t use SoundFlower :?

Yes, I'm sure you wrapper will work on my machine. However, for me, the problem with using other people's wrappers is the inability to adjust them in the future ... when Apple updates MacOS and breaks them.
I like to be in control of my own stuff and not reliant on others.
Fortunately, I am in a position to do that, but I also recognise just how valuable your wrappers are to those people who don't have the knowledge, patience or ability to make their own.

IMHO, the OP is now very confusing for those people who are new to Mac or new to MOULa, (especially the "Damage Control Update") and it could do with being simplified, maybe even split into several sections:
New to Mac
New to Uru
and
Long standing Mac Users with an older MacOS

I'm not sure if these new, High Sierra specific wrappers will run on El Capitan, Mavericks or other, older MacOS
systems. I seem to remember some older MacOS needed "decorate windows" to be ticked in the Screen Options?

Lastly, is there any reason (that I am unaware of) you've not included a wrapper for Deep Island in the OP?
Just curious.

1. True, I was wondering if perhaps there was some issue with your installation of SF that was fixed by uninstalling/reinstalling. What’s most important is that now it works! Have you tried the Cider trick?

2. Yeah, right now both tutorials are a bit of a mess  I’ll try to rework them a bit, but the underlying problem is that making MO:ULa work on (different versions of) macOS is inherently a bit complicate, especially if you also want the shards.

3. Older OS versions are what I need feedback for ;) If I don’t get any feedback, I can only assume everything works fine. I’ll try adding a specific “if it doesn’t work, try this” section, to collect the few tips that are here and there.

4. As per the Forum Policies, discussing hacking any game besides MO:ULa is not allowed. Consequently, Uru:CC-based shards cannot be discussed here, which is why I only mention wrappers for Uru:CC itself. The GoW and TOC forums are the places to go to further discuss wrappers for those type of shard; I’m there too, so I can try to troubleshoot stuff without worring about having the thread locked or removed.

This, by the way, is the reason why I use periphrasis like “GoW’s Fan Ages Shard” at the AGM, and have to redact the chatlogs whenever people mention those shards.

Excellent. I'll pop over to GoW and ask you about some stuff there.

I was a bit premature when I said that "my Shards are now working without iTunes" ... I should have said:

All my shards that are MOUL based ... [EDITED]... now work properly without iTunes running.

The others, well, let's talk over at GoW....

Just to let you know that I have updated my "Step-by-step Beginners Guide" (with screenshots) to creating a brand new wrapper for High Sierra ... and it now includes installing the correct PhysX that is included with the MOULa download.

The link is in my original post

This is probably a stupid question but is there a way to install Shards if I'm using the old Gametap Cider Wrapper or should I give in and figure out Wineskin?

Thanks if anyone sees this or can help!

Wineskin is the way to go for the shards on Mac. The Gametap cider wrapper was only for MOULa.

That's what I figured. Thank you! Looks like I've got a project for the weekend.

Check out my post (just above) with a link to my website with full instructions on how to create a wrapper. That's a tutorial for MOULa. The process is the same for the shards.

Keep in mind that if, as it seems, Apple will drop support for 32 bit applications in the next MacOS version, Cider will stop working for MOULa too.

Although Apple are planning a 64bit ONLY MacOSX, that will not be the next MacOSX update. It is likely to come around 2020 and in the meantime, although they may be dropping SUPPORT for 32bit apps (i.e. Wineskin) they should continue to work.
With the last MacOSX update (13.10.4) came a new "warning" message during the first time you start a 32bit app stating that the app "is not optimised" for your Mac. This is to encourage you to contact the app maker to make a 64bit version if their app or for you to see if one already exists and to replace your 32bit version. This message only appears once and accepting the message will allow the 32bit version of the app to run, so no need to panic just yet. 8)

Apple has used language like "MacOS High Sierra [10.13] will be the last macOS release to support 32-bit apps without compromise." So some 32-bit apps may break this fall.

We will probably learn more about the MacOS update schedule next week. WWDC (June 4th) is when Apple makes their big developer announcements for the year.
