Hi All,

I'm running Windows 7 - and just tried running UruLive after a long hiatus. It had a new patcher (I had to run as admin to get that installed). Then, I got this message after it looked like it finished installing the new patcher.

"The program can't start because d3dx9_27.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem."

Has anyone else received this message? Do I need to download again and reinstall? Thanks for any help!

Squeebee

See this thread on the same subject: viewtopic.php?f=40&t=28150 - in particular, look at the third post in the thread.

Thank you... I'll give that a try.

When I click on the link though, I get a message on the Microsoft page saying that Page cannot be found. I'll keep looking around on Microsoft - but every time I search for DirectX it takes me to the Windows 10 update! Ugh!

Microsoft's website seems to be having issues at the moment. I get the same error page when I click the link, if I try often enough I get the normal page. (You need to actually go back and click the link again, clicking the "reload" button of your browser won't help, because that just reloads the error page that you were redirected to.)

Thank you all... the Microsoft page does seem to be loading now - but I'm at work of course! Will try again from home and see if it works. *fingers crossed*

Thank you for your help! I'm in! :)

It wasn't easy... here's what I did:

The links in the posts above didn't work for me. I finally found what I was looking for on the Microsoft site here:

DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer

This is the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer. That will install DirectX version 9.x dll's on your machine. These are required to run the video for the game. :)

I ran the installer and got an error at the end - but restarted my computer and tried logging into MOUL again and it worked! Yeah!

That link was only useful to you because you have Windows 7. If you were using a newer OS you'd need the other link (though I expected that would work for Win7 too).

BTW: To use the URL tags, construct it like this:
[url=http://domain.com/filepath]text you want to display[/url]
