Hey folks,

So I'd like to record my MOULa gameplay to help illustrate the odd thing on my exploration journal, however I can't seem to find a method that works. I have FRAPS, but that doesn't seem to recognise the game when I try to capture video as no file is created (screenshots work perfectly though) and the in-build game capture of Windows 10 doesn't recognise it either.

Can anyone suggest a (preferably simple) method of capturing gameplay?
Thanks in advance.

If you have a PC with an NVidia GPU, you can install Geforce Experience and enable the in-game overlay to record stuff. Not as simple as Fraps, but it works. You'll have to create an NVidia account, unfortunately.

OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) has a lot of features so its interface is a bit messy but really works well once you get the hang of it. Watch out, by default I think the recording settings use a limited color range instead of the full one (which results in less contrast in the image).

I use OBS for various video captures on my computer. I have the option to capture the entire screen or a specific window.

When capturing windows I can do a picture within a picture... essentially two different video streams.

Plus OBS will stream video. The NVIDIA capture will too. But, I find once OBS is figured out and set up everything is easy. The setup, however, is not intuitive. You'll need to watch a recent YouTube tutorial.

So I wasn't able to get either of the selected programs to work, but I did find that if you set MOULa to play in Windowed mode then you CAN use the in-built game recorder to capture game play. You have to set the taskbar to auto-hide though or you can't get to the Ki/Relto and Options/Quit icons.

No a perfect solution, but it works.

Fraps works for me, so it seems to be an issue with your configuration :?

Interesting. I had to make OBS Studio record the entire desktop in order for it to be seen properly which wasn't a big deal.

So what program are you recording with then? Shadowplay?

Sorry, I should have been more spercific. I'm using Windows 10's in-build game recording software that's part of the XBox stuff that is included.
