Shorah B'shemtee!!

Taadpole and I have put together our first marker game quest.

Welcome to "The Gambit"!

The primary objective is to find all the markers in various ages, capture the text found and identify the clues.

There are basically four types of clues:
> Those that specify the next marker progress action
> Those that give clues to the next stage of the game
> Those that contain literary quotes
> Ones that specify the number of markers for each age.

The Goal is to assemble the literary text, place it in its correct order, identify the source and author. The end of the game contains a reward of unique perspective never attempted before.
We hope you enjoy this journey! Please do not post the answers here, but send a PM to GorenDeBree or Lyneesa in the forum.

[Reveal] Spoiler:
This a relatively large marker game, it will take a few extra seconds to load, have patience.

The game starts in Relto.

This game assumes that an explorer has completed all the basic ages and has a complete bookcase in MOUla and completed full KI calibration via the Great Zero.

The Skydiver add-in client is necessary for successfully capturing all markers. There are bonus markers also, but these are not required to complete this journey.
Proficient use of skydiving techniques are most beneficial and familiarity with the zipping process in the City will be required.

We recommend the following process for capturing text and protecting game play as progress proceeds:

* Use the ingame chatlog to save markers found.
i.e; /startlog /stoplog to use this feature.

* Explorer's KI view in the game is not able to display all characters a marker may hold.

* rename the chatlog (in PC game file) when finished with an age (the chatlog construct within MOUla PC files only records 3 new chatlogs i.e.; chat.0, chat.1, chat.2 then restarts recording in chat.0).

* Try to remember to close ('Stop Playing') the game before exiting. Crashes do not allow this of course.
So, it is important to have the chatlog available in case of resets to the marker game (does happen inevitably).

* Using the Magic Bots to reach markers is also fair game for the very difficult to reach markers (all markers are reachable via the skydiver client which was used to place every marker).

* NOTE: If you feel the need to use the plclient (cwe 918) and fly around to grab some markers...Remember that this client does not record a chatlog properly even though you can start and stop the chat log using the commands.

This is our first marker game for publication. We apologize for typos and misspellings ahead of time. Taadpole claims the title "Typo Qween" (her words not mine, LOL).

Post here if you would like to play this game and we will provide you a copy. Please include your KI number!

Most of all, Have Fun!!!
froglet and Taadpole

Well, looks like this excludes me, and half the population of the Cavern from even trying...

Hmmm, I remember not very long ago being unable to do much. I wanted to learn, so I did.
Everything you need Kath, is available to you, if you have the will to learn.
faceinpuddleman gave me a 30 min lesson in combo jumping, Annabelle inspired me mightily!
Jahmans Journals honed my skills. So now froglet and I have made a not easy, but far easier than Jahmans Journals, marker game to, maybe challenge our fellow explorers.
I will not deny it, I love to climb!
Enjoy Ya'all
Taadpole :))

Unfortunately, I doubt I could set aside enough time to learn combo jumping. Firstly, I doubt I have the patience, and secondly, I am normally quite busy, what with RL commitments.

Shorah KathAveara,

We put this journey together with many different explorers in mind,
it is to have fun, be challenged, and if successful maybe enjoy a bit of artistic whimsey.

However, it is only a game and as such, one plays it or not........
As the Bard of Avon said many years ago................

Who will believe my verse in time to come,
If it were fill'd with your most high deserts?
Though yet, Heaven knows, it is but as a tomb
Which hides your life, and shows not half your parts.......

Peace be with you,
Goren

I have been on a bit of a vacation... this last week.
I have had time to "hang" and meet many in the cavern,
Old... yaHoo, and New Explorers.
This marker game, as Goren has pointed out, is a challenge.

May I suggest; since I have learned from these Ladies... and a Gentleman named Abjab

"Canyon Exploration" by: Labelle Anna This is Ercana; very fun, a wonderful teaching game.

Kadish "UFO & Combo-Free Path to Underfloor" by: Susa'n

Kadish "Underfloor (combos req'd unless you have UFO Quest)" by: Susa"n

All that is Abjab (Abjab 7 is good for Phil's)
Abjabs7's Phils Relto#1 by: Abjab7

Teledahn "Hut Hut" by:Rabia
This is a challenge! yes, yes! combos are not req'd

And just cuz it is fun!
Railways & Terminals (Er'cana Canyon) by: Annabelle-Sophie

I will populate my KI with these timeless marker games, for any that wish to learn, the fun way.
Sadly, since the last update "combos" cannot be done, nor "zipping" with the now "normal" client.
But, the bots are almost always available for "magic" I have learned the commands, but I really like climbing, and exploring the ages on my own power, within the game, without "magic".
The "skydiver client" is found with research, in the forum, and by inquiry of those of us in the cavern that use it. It is not banned or anything like that, it just takes a bit of work (understanding) to integrate into Windows. (I am not Mac.)(If you are, look deep and just ask, there are many that can help)

It is, basically, what we had a year ago, as the "normal" client. The updates have been very successful, but hinder, us that like to "push" the envelope. Because the "combo" jumping (climbing) is not now possible.

All systems are different, you must conform, and finesse... with what you are working with.
As to the lag needed for climbing...... (If you fall to fast to RJ again)
I find with my quad, that, "the more the merrier" around me in an age works well, but running Frapps in the background also works well, and when I need more "lag", capturing always does the trick. Also, sometimes, in certain places, shutting it all down, helps. A very personal thing, in this URU.

So.... Like Goren said, you may play , or not.
My motto....
Where there is a will.... There is a way.

I completed the quest this morning. It took me several hours, mostly tuesday night & this morning. I didn't log in between.

I found the reward, it's... . I have all the texts, I just need to find who wrote it.

Shorah B'shemtee!!

Ok, Annabelle kindly pointed to some issues with our marker game!
Merci, ma chere!
The game has some markers that are unobtainable................
So, we are correcting this right now (removing some markers and renumbering)!

We will upload the corrected version and your game will refresh if
you stop the game and reset, then relaunch (you are not required to do this).

We apologize for this oversight  .....lessons learned,
Thank you Annabelle!!

I need to point out that all markers need not be obtained to solve this puzzle.
So, if you are thinking that "you have completed" mssg is needed, it is not!
The reward is awesome, and you do not need all the markers to find it.
Taad
