I think the look is entirely appropriate. The Writers... they were the ones blessed with the greatest gift of Yahvo, weren't they?

Is the logo I am using for the the GoA

No offense Tweek, because your visual design work outclasses mine by several orders of magnitude, but it looks more like a Guild of Fine Artists emblem (strikes me as a paintbrush). Of course, I've been trying to figure out a good GoA logo for a few months now, and haven't been able to settle on anything, because all of the iconic elements of archival save for filing cabinets are in use by other Guilds (Ink-Makers would technically get the ink pot, Writers get the pen, Book-Makers (and Messengers, apparently) get the book...). Maybe a book with a pocket watch on it or something... or maybe just a book without a Linking Panel, to differentiate it from the Art-related Guilds (with the added benefit that I wouldn't have to redesign DPWR's emblem ;)).

Ah I see, by GoA I was referring to Guild of Fine Artists (which is why I need to remember to refer to it as GoFA instead), my bad.

I always quite liked the currently icon you use at DPWR of the open book.

Thanks :). Stupid limited acronyms and their confusingness... that'd explain the "wrong" Guild color, too. Heh.

I'ma go somewhere else now ;).

[edit] Ooooh, shiny GoA logo! *gank* ;)

Alahmnat, what about a scroll of some kind? Maybe something like those scroll-storage shelves that look like wine racks? I don't know.. maybe scrolls weren't of any importance in D'ni.. but you could maybe depict book shelving of some kind, or a stack of books. Even a stack of open books!

Ryuu, grab your chance! LOL

I might take another stab at the shelving idea... the last time I tried it, the logo came out being a lantern-looking object for several years (admittedly, I wasn't as adept with the Pen Tool as I am now, hehe). I don't think it's quite on the iconic level of single elements like books or pens though. Of course, the Surveyor's Guild has a fairly obtuse logo, so I guess there's precedent on both sides ;).

I liked this old thread very much.
However, since it has passed since the year, it is no longer available for viewing.
I hope to see it again, even in this part.
