Photoshoot. As in, see the photos, shoot the cosplayer  there might have been a lesson on boundaries and the crossing thereof in this whole affair... and it may also have flown over my head by a mile or two. Whoopsie!

So, Myst V's protagonist. It's supposed to be "you" while you play. But it's also our dear doctor Watson. It's you, playing a videogame as the former head of the DRC. Hence... this. I swear it made sense in my head  It is meant as a homage to both End of Ages as a game, which I adore in its own strange, rushed-classy, spinoff-of-the-spinoff-ish ways (and which is sadly underrepresented in fandom), and to Dr. Watson himself who is my fifth favourite person ever in the recent history of D'ni (after Yeesha, Atrus, Catherine and Zandi jr. - and right before Anna). Cheers!
It's also an excellent reason to make a fluffy Slate. A layer of plywood, three of foamrubber and the right paints make for a soft and cuddly piece of ancient alien craftmanship! :D (...now I want a fluffy Tablet.)

This is it, then:

Generic poses (with Slate and cones and wires and the occasional firemarble):

Nobody ever knows who I go as and this costume will be no exception, but surely they'll get what series I'm from, right? Right? It's -literally- written on my forehead!

(...wrong, so utterly wrong :? )

2004: a change of heart

(Myst cosplays, or the art of recycling  Relto and KI obviously come from my Explorer costumes, my working Myst Book was made for a Yeesha skit, goes well with the Stranger and will tie in nicely with EoA the next time I wear this costume and, if I ever get to dress up as a Bahro, the Slate here is the perfect accessory...^^)

Laki'ahn taught me that these things are heeeeeeavy!
Image

I R GENIUS: the cones will keep those Bahros away from the Slate while I explore the surroundings! You stay there, Slate, capiche?
Image

...riiiight.
Image

Coot coot coot, conelings...
Image Image

A Slate pedestal!
Image

A dead end? This looks like a puzzle...
Image

...nope, the way was just hidden (appropriate Noloben Slate is appropriate btw). I'd like to point out that Bahros have better taste in graffitis than this.
Image

Of all the cosplays one could hope to find at a convention... a fem!Holmes to my fem!Watson! :D
Image

That's my boyfriend signing copies of a 'zine that sported an illustration of his. And this is me taking advantage of the situation. That issue's theme was The journey, so... ..."Oi, could you draw me a Yeesha?"
Image

Lunch break: do not disturb. (it's amazing how even a toy cone can influence people! When I was setting the cones for the "conelings" pics, passer-bies walked accordingly!)
Image

O wait. I see a resemblance here... (the other cosplayer is my friend Pepo as cone-headed Tingle from Majora's Mask)
Image

There were FOUR of them this morning!

(first worn last weekend at Lucca Comics 2010, Lucca, Italy. Had an incredible amount of fun both making the costume and wearing it, even though it's a silly little thing :) The same Photobucket folder also includes a young Phoenix Wright from the eponymous game and an 'instant' Skybax rider from Dinotopia, with added James Gurney!)
