My wife was just at the Guild Of Greeters forum....

They've got NOTHING posted about this......except for JW's offer about the domain!

Looks like they need to be woken up! Maybe they'll get out of their blue funk.....I'm sure this news should make their day.

Well, hey, I did my part - by posting that.

Actually, they're discussing it in a thread begun with Chogon's first post, called Something Is Up!

Edit: Just noting my 1,000 post here. w00t! :D

Speaking of other groups.......

I just realized......IF TCT comes back....their gonna have their hands full.......can you imagine trying to cover all the different shards that there might be?

I'm enjoying visions of TCT recovering from the tone of their previous broadcast.

I think from all the guilds we are the one who is most careful about this but on the other hand the opinions are split between "wait and see" and "woohoo it's back", just as everywhere else.

When MORE was in the works we didn't know what our new role could be, or if we should change anything in our work.
I don't know if we know now.

How about a few suggestions?

Here's one suggestion. What about looking at some of the current user-created puzzle ages and developing some guides? That could be done now, even before the details of this new open-source Uru are worked out.

Although I am not a GoG member, I like Dot's suggestion a lot.

There is an excellent puzzle in Pahts already, plus one based on an Egyptian theme and the two Jonae ages with puzzle content as well (but the journals and so forth need translating from German, which could be an interesting side project all on its own for those who are linguistically inclined). Those are just the ones I can think of right away.

Guides would be very useful for those who want and need them. Heck, you could even create a sub-Guild based on this as the fan ages proliferate. Say something like the Guild of Researchers or some such. (If that is an existing Guild already, my apologies - I'm not up on just how many guilds and sub-guilds exist and are active at the moment, aside from the Greeters, Maintainers, Writers and Relayers.)

(My apologies if I am intruding - just wanted to offer some ideas.)

we are fully aware of the good news.

WE have an area in the guild of greeters.com, where Just Greeters can get into and discuss anything.
So dont worry, we're on it.

Yes, people need to return and help in their area of expertise. No one's place is more or less important than anyone else's. The Greeters will help new players get oriented with the world. The Cartographers will generate maps so explorers can find their way. The Messengers will spread news throughout the cavern so we no longer need to look at the forums for our news :P. The Maintainers will ensure working Ages. And the Writers will make those Ages. Some may seem less important, but without any single one of these, this game falls apart.

We should also get a Guild of Ink-Makers for the coders to discuss modifying the engine/client/server code.

Well: look at the name of the person who posted the 'Cyan Hands over Myst Online to the fans.' thread. It's Lynnutte, a.k.a. the Guild Master of the Guild of Messengers :)
GoMe is fully working and thinking on how we could help with the new Uru

& don't forget: the GoMe is always open (as any guild really) for anyone, and helping hands/minds is very much appreciated :D

Thanks VixBlu, , Come One Come all ! There will be some 'Hurry up and wait' in all of this, but jumping in early will be an advantage. Oh... bring your skills with you :)
Lastly, if there is a real webmaster type lurking around, looking for a place to shine, then polish your tools over at GoMe. Our Gopher is looking for a website decorator.
