Sorry Karkadahn, I used to have it all, but recently lost it in a computer crash. . . . :(

I don't know if He will have the info anymore, But I just sent an email to Patrick/Futographer asking him to send me what he still has. If he does I will post links to the missing info and puzzles. Meanwhile, You can still get to the Rebus puzzles. . .those are cool and there's a lot so it ought to keep you busy! Have you done those? Or the crossword puzzles? The photo puzzles require that you go into the game (complete chronicles) to solve them if you have that installed, most of those have the info attached.

BTW: In Teledahn, did you find the note that in riddle form explains what to do with the clues you get with each puzzle?

That would be so cool I had hoped that the ingame links would be restored if enough people showed interest, the Rebus puzzles had always confused me but I will keep trying, haven't got to the crosswords yet, I have skimmed over the photo puzzles but have not done much with them. and I don't think I found that note but Im not sure I will hafta take a second look.

Thanks again

Kark

Haven't heard from him yet, but the reason I asked about that note is that many people missed it and in Beta, since we almost all had to be nudged to find it . . . I really thought (hoped) it would have been moved but Futo said he wanted it to be tough  . . . . it may not even be necessary, with the game being broken as it is . . . there are many things that definitely need the people behind the scenes (who aren't there any more) to complete.

The links all went to the Jumping bean studios site where all the images and journal pages were posted, that no longer exsists, . . . . . too bad, they had some cute games in the works for kids. The emails in Nick's computer had automated answers, or came to me for a clue, after three wrong answers. (not functional anymore either) So I would imagine, the best that we can hope for would be a chance to work the puzzles "manually".

Not sure what is meant by working the game manually but it sounds like a challenge. I'll keep checking back from time to time, and I still got a lot more Puzzle to go threw.

Patrick Ellis's Business appears to be successfully continued under the same name with 6 people in Scottsdale AZ, but with a different website host name, see: http://www.manta.com/coms2/dnbcompany_j3prwm; (I'm relying on Mystdee to filter interactions, so we don't snow Futographer...he's gotta be too busy)

For the missing pieces (some provided for convenience only, as best I can tell), I suppose the cheapest fix might be to resurrect the website name (if possible/practical), pay for it ourselves, and stash it with otherwise lost (but recoverable or creatable) data to establish the authors original intent. The remaining weakness in the age might be that it relied on email handshakes, but thats a nice touch too, if it can be automated; otherwise it ought to be built into the client side perhaps. If we can't use the original Jumping Bean website name, then things have to be fixed both sides with a new website name, I guess. It's worth some thought........(Futo keeps a long list of other Jumping Bean named entities on his site)....(Can we do a redirect to Mystlore, say ?)..its gotta be Futo's call

For the record, I loaded up both the 2D interactive version and the 3D (noninteractive) version on my minimal PC, after (MS mandatory) upgrading .NET Frameworks 3.5 and Homex86 on WXP. It was a struggle for the 3D to keep up, but the 2D runs beautifully... dont know how to help the 3D performance (@1.8MHz & Nvidia 6200) ..new motherboard, I imagine, (no quality options were provide in setup).

And Many Many Thanks to all those people in Forum who got me there.......(it took some research)... Loved the look, feel and Music ! Nice work.

We oughta fill in a Wiki with the gold, too

Regards,

Abjab

Thanks Mystdee, if it's any comfort, I did verify communication to Futo's Message machine, but didn't want to leave any message yet....I took my own advise and started a Mystlore Wiki draft (http://en.mystlore.com/wiki/D%27ni_History_Puzzle), after reviewing all the stuff I could find on Forums (I learned a lot and hav'nt barely begun to place links and references). Sometime I have to get Futo's permissions, I believe, to complete it (Wiki) correctly.

Advice/instruction is always welcome. Wiki is free to edits. I tried to cover Nick White's Office too..works OK from search engines so far..I was trying to see things from a Newbies perspective. It can be confusing otherwise. And I have to adapt to Wiki protocols (I ducked some of the tools) so there is a learning curve.

I might have caught up with Karkaddan and others on collecting everything in D'ni History Puzzle..I'll post the perceived detail status here for comparisons or in Wiki eventually , since that kinda defines the workload required to fix things. Might help...

I also noted that my 3D Nick White's Office has opaque windows....(2D doesnt)...Not sure if this is supposed to be correct (some conradictory reports across Forums. (else 2D/3D confusion)) I'll have to look again. missed a switch ? (Nah...)

I loved your (?) earlier Poster for the Puzzle.....gotta find it again.

Just a little clarification: Patrick had nothing to do with the release of 3d version of the office. In fact, he even might not know about it at all. At least I never told him about it, although it was complete and fully functional during the latter stages of the DHP production.I think the only person I showed it to at that time was Lauren (korteenea).

Thanks for the correction Rusty, and my apologies. Trying to find owners here for recognition, not always easy and did'nt mean to ignore your well posted contributions, just hadn't got round to providing the quotes yet; but I now take it that you own the 3D product, unless advised otherwise. Now I'm not sure about the 2D........

I thought I had/have evidence that Futo stitched some of the (3D) stuff together, so I assumed he knew about it..I'll have to double check the source..

And I also have evidence that Futo held the DHP Cyan Licence, and if it only covered the 2D version, what covers the 3D ? Seperate item ?

In any event I'll revise the wiki draft

Thanks for the steering....

Talk about a spin in the Wayback Machine - Hiya Mystdee! I remember working the DHP all those long years ago - and I sort of remember we had a "secret forum" set up to give each other hints, helps, and outright answers - I don't imagine that's still an active site anywhere . . . and all my notes were lost in my last move . . . what fun it was, though!

Cheers!

Actually, it is still there morwyn. Futographer was given a section at the Writers Guild forums. The Beta testing forum for DHP is still there, but it is only visible if you are logged in and have permission to access it. My login still works. :)

Wow. That was so long ago - I have no idea what my login consisted of. Of course, anything that happened before last month is a bit of a blur, too . . .

I have still not heard from Futo, so either he has just been busy or he doesn't have anything to send me, dunno. If anyone wants the combination to the microwave, I did find that, so you cam PM me and I will give that to you, if you'd like.

Ooops thought I was adding this to the above message guess not

For DHP Fans' delight, (well mine anyway..)

Original DHP Poster Art; Futo did the first one, Mystdee did the other, I'm told. (I had to work to find these)
