Cyan, probably this is the last thing on your mind right now, but your Web site still lists Riven as coming soon here (and Stoneship isn't even listed on that page!): http://www.cyanworlds.com/products/index.php

And you should try to promote Uru with the Myst and Riven iOS versions. There's a big opportunity to make people aware of it!

I figured out why the hotspots were coming up and staying up. It has to do with the way I was holding it. If you keep the iPad with it's back parallel to the floor, the hotspot hints are gone. If you hold the iPad with it's back perpendicular to the floor, the hotspots turn on, and stay on.

I just checked, the iPhone does it too, but it has to be held at a pretty unnatural angle for it to occur. With the iPad, it was happening because I was laying down with the iPad resting on my stomach. It's very easy for this to occur on the iPad, very difficult on the iPhone.

Oh, thanks for that. I always hold my iPod like that, so I didn't even notice I was doing it... It was getting pretty annoying. Guess I'll lay it flat now.

No. Cyan doesn't own the rights to 3, 4, or (we think) 5.

Am I the only one here who thinks the timing of this release is a bit unfortunate? It got released at the same time as NOVA 2, and everyone already got Infinity Blade last week, which was a must buy for iPhone/iPad gamers. Not to mention like 5 huge gameloft games and Real Racing 2. I'm still going to buy Riven, but I'm just sayin'...not sure it will be as successful as Myst on the iPhone, which pretty much had a clear launch window. :(

Everyone wants to ship before Christmas. And there are more big iOS games coming out this season than there were in early 2009. Pretty much the history of Riven all over again.

(Also, "Cyan doesn't own the rights to ..." is a bad summary of what we know, even if we knew it, which I don't think we do.)

I didn't. It's not a must buy for me. I have no interest in fighting games, so I would really only want to see that game for its engine, which is adequately demoed by Epic Castle.

I must say... Riven is pure awesome! Feels great to play it again after such a long time... :)
The only issue I sometimes have with it is that framerate of some animated sequences is kinda low.
Otherwise, one HUGE thanks to Cyan for making this awesome port! :D

Ok, not "everyone", but it's the highest grossing game on the iphone, and it will get non-fighter fans because of the graphics. Riven, on the other hand is a port of an old sequel that a ton of people already own and can play on a bigger screen on their pc. The competition is just tough in my opinion, although it is in the top grossing at number 53.

It's also very interesting that iOS Riven ended up launching on the same day as iOS 7th Guest, which is as direct a competitor as you could imagine.

i looked it up, and the 7th guest video has something similar to a linking/trap book.

They rereleased 7th Guest? Who knew the iOS devices would be such a renaissance for classic games.

7th guest is out and 2.99 for iPhone or like 5.99 U.S. for iPad. It's got some issues right now with playing videos much too quickly so hold out on buying it for now.
