But hey, it not being on iPhone is an excellent excuse to get in on PC, Mac, and consoles. Just imagine, Myst controlled with a Wii remote!

I'd love to have it portable, that's the issue. My beef is changing their site and getting my hopes up that it would come out for iPhone 4S also. All my bookmarked links to Cyan Worlds that used to say "realMyst for iOS" now say "realMyst for iPad".

Are they planning a separate release for the iPhone or did they just "sneakily" retract the iPhone compatability info? Did anyone see anyhthing official on this?

Anyway, I know it's just a drop in the bucket but it looks l might not be able to support Cyan on this one, (since I don't own an iPad.)

I don't own an iPad either but I WILL be purchasing realMYST all the same. Cyan needs all the support they can get at this stage and I believe Rand has pretty much stated that what Cyan does or doesn't do next pretty much rides on the success or failure of this release of realMYST.

If you can afford to buy it through the app store then please buy it, whether you'll be able to play it or not. Cyan needs us now more then ever. I've been blessed and enriched by what they have created. I'm happy to give back in whatever way I can now.

I hear you, I've got three iOS devices - including an iPad 1 - and it looks like none of them will be able to run this.
I'm a registered iOS developer with a copy of XCode installed. I am making games for iOS but even so, I can't play this one.

Still, I'll back this project as much as I can. I'll be one of the opening-day buyers trying to push it to the top.

Advice for the Myst fanbase: Don't just buy this, buy it on opening day. That way hopefully we can boost its visibility.

Positive ratings help too.

Incidentally, Cyan Worlds really needs to update their RealMyst for iOS page soon, given that they plan to release the game in the next 24 hours.

Also - a slight nitpick - I think they should probably replace the word 'insure' with 'ensure', which I think is the more appropriate word given this context:

"Auto-save to insure you pick up where you left off"

Any final thoughts before launch day arrives? Perhaps we could start a pointless debate over whether RealMyst's launch is 'eminent' or 'imminent'.

The previous version of Myst hit #9 ranking at its peak.

Let's see if we can match - or exceed - that.

Got it! Looks great too! Played first couple of minutes. Takes bit of getting used to the movement (using a touch pen) - it is pretty responsive.
