Inspired by this thread. I felt the need to create a more nuanced poll. The word "port," in this context, is a direct reproduction of the original PC game onto the DS, which is presumably what they're doing now for the original Myst.

To define the options:

"I don't" - You don't have, or really even want, a DS. If you want a DS enough that you consider yourself a potential DS owner, you can choose one of the other options. Also, if you would buy a DS just for a Myst game, you can choose the option that best matches what you would want.

"I do, and would buy any Myst game port" - You love Myst so much, or are so intrigued by the idea of playing Myst on a train, that you'd certainly buy a DS version of any game in the series.

"I do, and would buy a Myst port if it were especially good" - You're intrigued by the possibilities of playing a Myst game on DS, but won't settle for a mere sloppy conversion. If it doesn't cleverly use the dual screens, 3D processor, touch screen and stylus, and maybe even the microphone, then you won't buy it.

"I do, and would love an original Myst DS game, but wouldn't buy a port" - You feel that the DS is too different from a PC, so while you realize that the DS is a great system for adventure games like Myst, a conversion of an existing game would do neither the series nor the system justice.

"I do, but don't feel the system is right for Myst" - You have the system, but don't see why any kind of Myst game would be worthwhile on it.

I hope I haven't left anybody out.

I don't have, don't want, and would not buy a DS for a Myst game alone.

I think that's all pretty well covered by your vote. What, then, has your post brought to the discussion? :P

Alright, I admit to a generation gap. What is a DS?

Oops. I knew I'd be leaving something out!

Nintendo DS. It's a two-screened hand-held game system, fundamentally similar to a Game Boy, but the lower screen is a PDA-style touch screen. Many have suggested that the nonstandard design makes it a great system for the revival of the Adventure Game genre, with games like Hotel Dusk and Phoenix Wright being good examples of how it can be done.

There is a Nintendo DS version of Myst in the works.

That I:

:P

But I'll take that as a prompt to expand. I am a student; I do not have money to be spending on extravagant items such as the latest hand held console, cell phone, etc. when my laptop LCD panel desperately needs replacing soon. I have 10 columns of stuck pixels (with 2 more forming as I type). Also, I could do with more RAM...

I have those games on PC, so that's plenty good for me...

I have a DS, I travel a lot so such a thing is a god send for the long flights.

I would happily purchase the Myst games for my DS...I really want to get Hotel Dusk but everywhere I look sold out >.<
