I spent some time the other day scanning in my notebook from the last playthrough I did of Myst. After many times playing through these games I noticed that there were bits of paper and other notes scattered about after finishing. So it seemed like it would be fun to do a really serious playthrough of the series and take really accurate notes on things I saw and did.

The end result was the most immersive experience I've ever had playing a game. It was so much fun to play each Myst game and add to the book of notes and thoughts that I was making. Anyway, here is the final result! By the way, SPOILERS for everything. The images spoil every puzzle in every Myst game and the info boxes attempt to explain the storyline.

I was hoping that you guys would share your own scraps of paper and other odds and ends you collected while playing through Myst. And I also had a question! Are there any other games that you've played that have left you with such an experience? What are those games and would you recommend them? If you've read this far, thanks for your time!

Here are my notes for Myst V. Two sides of one sheet of A4 writing pad

Remember, if you don't want Myst V spoiled for you, don't look

I drew out the entire electrode puzzle in Myst III to help me solve it. Took up about half a side of A4. No picture... Sorry...

That's too funny Karkadann.

I have to say, making my own notebooks as I play through the game is what I like best about MYST. I get to express both my inner artist and my inner scientist. Here are a few pages from mine.

Very Cool Thread, PatMan!
Great idea, I hope more explorers post theirs.

My notes were far more haphazard than any of yours so far!

Does anyone have a complete map of the subway in the Selenitic age?

PatMan33 (and everyone else of course),

I've been making "notebooks" from 'way back, ever since I started playing text adventures games eons ago (Zork, etc.) But I wanted to tell you that the series of games in the Rhem universe (Rhem 1-4, so far) almost *require* this type of approach to complete the games. There are so many puzzles and clues embedded in the images of these games there's practically no way to keep them all in your head -- you almost *need* to create not only maps, but record signs, symbols, wiring diagrams (including color schematics), and all kinds of other things, even including sounds. And you really need to get creative in some cases because you need to figure out how to "map" in 3 dimensions because of all the overlapping levels and the need to see how things really do relate to each other across those levels to avoid getting lost or spending lots of time needlessly retracing your steps.

If you can't tell, I've really enjoyed these games; I am anxiously awaiting Rhem 5.

I don't have any of my maps/pages scanned, but they look a lot like the other posters have shown us in this thread.

Making maps and pages is fun!

Regards,
Lyle
