This could be fixed by editing the template. https://www.phpbb.com/kb/article/making ... w-windows/

I've been meaning to do this too, but I'm lazy and usually just right click and open in a new tab. :V

Tai'lahr, you just have to press 'Ctrl' at the same time when clicking a link, then you'll get the link opened in a new tab, or click on that link with your middle mouse button, if you have one, that works too ... or just install the TabMixPlus addon to be able to adjust your Tab behavior and even appearance if you like (I just chose some linking conveniences etc.) completely to your liking ... :P

What I also really don't like is that we cannot reply directly anymore, so you first have to leave the thread/topic you're reading to log in first, then find your way back, in this case searching for Tai's post, to be able to reply directly ...

... and of course, as Tai'lahr mentioned above, the inability to directly open the latest or a specific post and instead being directed to the top of the thread, esp. from email notifications, where you can only see the latest post when you log yourself in first, otherwise you can only link to the top of that thread ... :)

Edit: I'd like to add, take your time guys and gals, we're just reporting what has changed and what we'd like to have back or even improved, but all at the proper time ... :D

Ohh, how lovely, no Debug error message anymore btw ... /cheer ... and I love mrgreen ...

Shorah everyone!

I am loving our shiny new forums here!!

It appears that we are now limited to *four* spoilers per post, which is a bit problematic for those of us who include illustrations... Is there any way to change this??

Now that the spoiler text requires enclosing quote marks, all the past show/hide behavior is broken. So in trying to fix this in some old posts, I find that only the last four images per post will show/hide correctly... Bummer :(

However, we can now PM to multiple recipients!! Awesome! :D

Or just right-click on the link and select "open in new tab"

The reply button is at the top & bottom of each page where it always is.

What? Are you saying you don't see the new post indicator on the left of the thread title telling you that there is a new post in that thread? And you are not aware it is clickable and takes you to the first new post in that thread?
Or you haven't used the "View Unread Posts" or "View New Posts" links at the top right side of the forum?

Shorah Alien,

If I'm reading her post correctly, I believe janaba1 is saying some of the prior default link behavior now only works correctly if you are already logged into the forums (i.e., there are more restrictions in place than before for unregistered visitors).

I can't be sure about this myself as I'm always logged in automatically...

Thank you, Ainia, what you're saying is, and I can and now only need to emphasize that people should at least read what they're referring to when trying to give constructive comments ... Thanks ...

As for Tai's linking problem, I just offered more convenient solutions, so there was no need to reiterate the already to everybody known inconvenient one ... As for the second issue that one cannot reply directly anymore as it was possible before with every single post as well as the third issue as of being directed to the top of the thread, ok, what more is there to say, is already answered by Ainia again for all who didn't understand what was meant to be reported ...

... and as stated before, take your time everyone, what you've done already was great and in such a short span of time ... :D

Hmmm, it's true that the phpBB3 "Reply" button exists only at the top and bottom of the page. However, you can "cheat" and use the "Quote" button that exists with every post as a "Reply" button and either use it for quotes or just clear the message body (click in message body, control-A to select all text, then delete) and begin your new reply.

Huh? I see a Reply button on each post. In any case, I think Janaba was referring to wanting to reply when not being logged in and having to leave the thread to get logged in. /shrug

I can get used to a lot of changes, but this... I hated it on the OU forums and I hate it here. As a "librarian" who likes to refer to specific posts a lot, this could drive me to jump without a Relto book.

I don't have a linking problem; I know how to use age books...

I don't have a linking problem; I can quit any time.

Now you confused me a little bit, JWPLatt lol, I was really looking and looking again lol, but sorry, there is no 'quote' button with every post when you're not logged in ... Before we had that quote button in the upper right corner when not logged in, now you have it in the bottom right corner only when logged in ... To be sure, I just looked into my MOUL folder to look for older forums pages I've saved before lol ... :D

hehe ... you know what I meant, Tai, with that linking problem outside the forums, which is quoted many times now lol, and I delivered many great solutions btw ... 8)

Just to avoid some confusion here, I added the "Post Reply" button to the bottom of each post about 5 minutes ago.

Edit: I've removed them for the time being

Is it supposed to? Then "Quote" and "Post Reply" would have the same exact purpose. I was under the impression that "Post Reply" would just be a shortcut to posting a reply to the thread in general, since it seemed that the fact that the "Post Reply" buttons were only located at the top and bottom of the page was only just an inconvenience.

Thank you, Hannah - both for the new button and for the clarification.

And, btw, great job!

Yes, Hannah, it's supposed to quote and 'Post Reply' doesn't quote, 'Post Reply' let's you only reply after the latest post ... so, what we had before is a 'quote' button even when 'not logged in', so that you can directly answer to 'any' post while at the same time have being quoted/said what one will be referring to ... (the Post Reply button with every post does nothing and is clumsy btw  ) ... :P

At least I'm glad that those to who my report was directed understood what was meant to be expressed and respectfully requested ... Thanks ... :D

There is no limit anymore, so all (fixed) posts will show/hide correctly. :D
