Kickstarter ad breaks the theme

You know as important as it is for Cyan to get the word out about their Kickstarter, I think the deadline sign "clashes" with this sites theme. Not sure how to fix this, but hopefully now that I've said this someone who know more about web design* can come up with something.

* I know about web programming but not too much about design.

Speaking of ads, did you notice that Cyan has removed the "manhole masterpiece edition" ad?(although that might have happened a while ago).

Yes, I noticed. That Manhole banner also clashed with the sites theme but was there for over two years. The Kickstarter overlay on the masthead image is only temporary and I certainly don't grudge Cyan making use of their assets to promote the KS. It follows the Kickstarter and Obduction colour themes and it'd be pretty difficult to get those to blend with the colours here, and there are more useful ways to spend time than tinkering with a temporary graphic, I think.

For some reason the manwhole one never bugged me that much since it was at the bottom of the page and for some reason was not so "out of place".

I have no problem with Cyan advertising on the forums, it's a good idea but I just find this ad a bit "too" out of place for me. Oh and thinking about it, Cyan may not have the time/resoues to fix the ad and I can understand that, in which case, my feedback could be useful for the next one.

Really??? I would think they could advertise where ever...how ever they please....generating revenue is tricky at the best of timez...this is a great attention getter. Most good advertising does something to get 'in your face'.
I really hope this allows for some spill over into our beloved Uru live.

I believe it will. I've already seen some people mention in the KS comments about returning the to cavern or playing it for the first time. I started a Welcome thread for them (feel free to post a welcome message to them). Hopefully, they'll stick around awhile and contribute to the CAVCON once the Kickstarter campaign is over.

Yes, as I posted in the CAVCON thread, the stats show a 40% boost in MO:ULa logins since the KS began.

I wonder why it is not on the actual Cyan Forum page? Or am I missing something? There is a link to Game Announcements ( and no mention ) even if it isn't on the main header page, like here..? Maybe a link to the Cyan Home Page from there, (which is down a bit in the menu)? I tend to ramble but I did eventually see a link to the Cyan Home Page.. Maybe a nudge on the Cyan Forum main page?

I think the current MOULa players where the most interesting in the kick-starter, so they decided to put the ad here. Maybe the new players will increase donatationts too MOULa.

97% of the activity on the Cyan forum is on the Obduction threads, already.
