Hello there. i just wanted to ask if the developers are aware of the minecraft mod "mystcraft". you can craft your own ages there and so on. its pretty nice. the world generator is amazing.

here a link to all the different symbols that can be used to craft an age http://binarymage.com/wiki/doku.php?id=writing:symbols

Mojang, and thus Minecraft, got taken over by Microsoft recently.
Are Cyan aware of Mystcraft? Pretty sure they are. Now they are definetely :P but I recall hearing that the Mystcraft developer was trying to request permission from Cyan to use the linking sound for the mod. Which apparently didn't happen.

The amazing thing about Mystcraft in my opinion, is that it's lead to a long journey culminating in me finding out what Myst was, playing the games, and ending up here.
A lot of people probably think Mystcraft is just a mod for making new worlds, which in a minecraft sense I guess it is, but people who look deeper into it and find out where the mod came from (rather than just having it in a modpack with no explanation) will eventually find out about Myst, and may be lured into getting the games just as I have.

Now that I've finished Myst, Riven and Uru:Cc (waiting on Myst3 to be delivered) and gotten into the lore and history of Myst and the D'ni, I think it's great that such an old game has had an influence on this person to make such a mod for a modern game. Thanks to the mod maker I've learned about Myst, and the next time I use Mystcraft (when it updates for minecraft 1.8) I'll be going into it with a different attitude. Instead of just making new worlds, I'll be looking into the age's features, creating a library, writing journals in each age. Then I'll feel that i'm doing the mod, and Myst's history, justice :)
