After our old computer blew it's top, I didn't think I'd get back to the Cavern and all my old friends again. Then THAT computer needed replacing. I'd decided to try out Steam and noticed it had Myst Riven and Uru for sale. Playing all the games again reminded me of the times I'd spent in MOULa talking with friends, so I decided to try to get it to work on the new system.

Happy days! Everything works again! I found myself back in Tokotah, wandering around to see who was there. A few names I recognize after my long absence, but many new faces as well.

I'm not sure I'm the same person I was before. It's been so long, and I've been though so many different experiences since my last post here. I've developed new interests, rekindled some old ones. I don't feel any different, but somehow I know I have changed. It's kind of like looking at old photos of yourself and thinking "Boy did I look ridiculous back then!" Yer still the same person, but time and experience has tweaked the way you see things compared to how you looked at the world before.

One thing hasn't changed, I miss m friends and want to talk to them again,
So this prodigal explorer has come home

Thank you Tai'lahr,
Seems awfully quiet these days compared to how I remember things. o.O

Hard as it is to admit, it is quiet in the cavern these days...But unlike previous times, their really *is* quite a bit of unseen Restoration going on, if you'll pardon the deliberate pun, beneath the surface. Sorry I can't give you better specifics, or more hope.

But maybe, just maybe...the Called will feel compelled to return to the cavern...the Deep City will breathe again...and welcome it's wayward Explorers home once more.

Shorah b'shemtee.

For those of us that have completed the Cavern and explored to the point of memorizing nooks and crannies, there isn't much to do. So... people wander off.

You can find some private shards running. Some of the people will be in those. Fan content is appering in those shards. Visit the GoW site to learn more.

Others have wandered off to other worlds. Some of the GoMa people can be found in OpenSim worlds. A good number of fans are playing in Second Life (find the D'ni Refugees group), and others are playing in Guild Wars.

Some leave those worlds to visit the Cavern. But, it is random.

Finding old friends in the Cavern is a challenge. Scan the members list here for names you remember. You can pull up a page that shows their posts. From that you can tell how often they are around the forum.

I've been absent quite a bit, too. Just happened to pop in here and see Sage is back, too! Nice to see you around.

I think Tolkien actually said it best.......

Quote:
Roads go ever ever on,
Over rock and under tree,
By caves where never sun has shone,
By streams that never find the sea;
Over snow by winter sown,
And through the merry flowers of June,
Over grass and over stone,
And under mountains in the moon.

Roads go ever ever on,
Under cloud and under star.
Yet feet that wandering have gone
Turn at last to home afar.
