Although it happened two years ago, today I learned that astronomers discovered a 155-mile diameter asteroid named Chariklo, between Saturn and Uranus, has a ring system around it.

The system is composed of two rings. The thick inner ring is about four miles wide, while the thinner outer ring is a little less than two miles. Spectroscopic analysis of the starlight also revealed that the rings are composed partially of water ice.

They still have no idea how the rings were formed, but it immediately made my mind flash to Space Ahnonay. I'd always thought that the rings there were impossible.

Looks like I might have been wrong.
