The Grand opening of Myst Online: Uru Island in second life has opened. Rand Miller, Ryan Miller, Grey Dragon and other Cyanists were present, as well as Uru T-shirts made available by second life designer Estrelle Fauna (makes for good Uru marketing).
For complete information and feedback see this Uru Obsession Thread

The Cyantists were Rand, Ryan Miller, GreyDragon and Moke. Rand went home with a moiety dagger stuck in his shoulder. ;)

The Uru island has an awesome recreation of both Eder Kemo and the 'hood; I hope it can do some good marketing for us.

Sorry, I'm slow on the uptake today....you mean the game Second Life? (Maybe I should read the link first.)

It's not a game, it's Second Life.

(Literally, it's a three-dimensional alternative/supplement to the internet. And yes, you can create games to play within it. Or clothing. Or houses. Etc.)

No, no, just kidding! ;) (Or am I?)

EDIT: I personally deleted the content since apparently some find it offensive and I don't want that to happen. So it's gone now. :)

Second Life is a way to hide the bad things that happen to you in real life.. It a way to run from reality.. A rather silly concept if you ask me with horrible graphics. And yes it is a game, no more, no less.
Mostly it's emo kids who uses second life to flea from reality but that wont solve their problem. You could call it The Sims Online or something.. it's about the same annoyance you get.. ;)

So that's why I was itching when I went over there, all the flea bites from the emo kids who are there FLEEING from their lives!

People were offended by your review of SL? Amazing.

How much is SL? I never found out. I went over there and saw that I couldn't choose my own last name and left.

I fell in and made an avi maned Astro + one of the last names on the list (why the heck did they do this?)
Finally having a user I linked in to a world that was basically Eder Kemo and Bevin, somehow mixed a bit together. During the walk through Eder Kemo you can recognize all objects as trees, paths, fountains and even fireflies. There are screens along the path where you can watch trailers and interviews about URU Live, the same movies as we can see on this site, only integrated in the game. The graphics are non comparable. Avatar movements are also in a class of its own. In fact this little jurney was fun and a bit entertaining. But most of all it reminded me to appreciate the increadible quality of the real thing: URU Live!
Take a walk through Eder Kemo in Second Life and be happy to be an explorer in the cavern :-)

I want to add that it is in fact great advertising. I think we will get some users of Second Life coming to try UL.

You can play Second Life for free, but to get in-game money you'll either have to sell things in-game or pay money to Linden Labs.
