I recently had a bout with a very nasty computer worm and had to reformat my computer. Since it was possible that my "favorites" list was infested too I did not export them. :x

So far, I have managed to find most of what was on my favorites list and to remember what my passwords were. :o

But one of my favorite sites seems to have gone missing during my unexpected "leave of absense." Does anyone have a working link to COBBS?

I tried: www.clockworkorangebbs.org but I get the "This page cannot be displayed." error.

Is this the correct URL, or is the web site down?

what browser do you use? if its firefox then you should have a backup (firefox periodically backs up for bookmarks)

if its IE then I can't help you don't use IE anymore.

I just tried using my bookmark and I think they may be down. I also tried linking from various forums. Still can't get there. Hope they are OK.

Thanks for such quick responses!

Tweek
I was using IE7-Beta at the time. I had Firefox too, but only used it occasionaly so not much if anything would be there. I am using IE6 now. And yeah, I know that is a lost cause.

Ja'de
I will try again later and see if I can get in. I heard rumors that many Myst/Uru related sites had been attacked lately. Hopefully they had better contingency plans than I had.

In the future, use a service like Windows Live Favorites. After you sign-in with a Passport, you can store all your IE, FF, and Opera favorites on their server. Then, when you lose them, just export them to your computer, and you can import them. Easy as that. :)

Thanks for all the suggestions :D

I can log into COBBs now with the link Which2 provided and I managed to remember my name and password there :)

I downloaded the Yahoo toolbar and now I have a really wierd situation. When I use the IE link I can see my Yahoo toolbar and it has may old, old, old favorites list. It is fun seeing what I was looking at way back when :)

But interestingly, when I use the link for Hotmail, which is using the Windows Live Beta program, the Yahoo toolbar cannot be seen, although it is listed as being available :?: This is not a big problem, but it is certainly an interesting IE issue.

I downloaded the Google Toolbar and it is visible in both the IE and Hotmail links.

I will be downloading Firefox again and see what happens with that too.

It is such fun reformatting
