Because the subject has been brought up a couple times, I thought I'd see what the consensus is.

Yes, well, I have no idea what a non-biased pole looks like. What the heck does it mean for a pole to be biased?

What, you create a pole specifically designed to get just one desired answer and none other? This I do not understand.

Do you like Flowers that are blue? yes/no
Do you like Flowers that are red? yes/no
Do you like Flowers that are <insert color ad infinitum>? yes/no
Do you like flowers? yes/no

Is that a biased pole?

This poll is biased in that there is no option to state an answer contrary to any specific selection.

You are asking if I like biased polls... and i have a yes option, and another yes option.... it doesn't leave much for people who don't care either way, or want a varying degree of no.

I see, this poll does say I enjoy, or I don't mind. But what if it said Yes I like them, or NO I don't like them? Is that biased?

Yes or No is reasonably unbiased, but having as many options as practical is always a good thing.

For an opinion question its often better to have a scale. Something like a spectrum of strongly agree(5), and strongly disagree(0). The average value being (3) neither agree nor disagree. Its balanced in possible responses and it allows for more accurate results than just yes or no.... and its way better than yes or a little more yes.

It really depends on the question though.

And it really depends on if people are annoyed with how many polls have been spammed on the board recently...

There are lots of issues that have to be taken into account when designing good survey questions (Wikipedia article). The set of available responses, the way questions are worded, and the order in which they appear can bias the respondents. Additionally, for a survey to give results from which accurate generalisations can be drawn, the surveyed people should be selected randomly from the population being studied. You also want to minimise the number of people who are selected to be surveyed but decline to take part.
