Congratulations to Teknobubba whose excellent talent was selected for the MagiQuest Online voice of "The Old Man In The Tree" character in the Twisted Forest Thunder Rune Quest!

Way to go Tekno!

/cheer

The candidates for several characters all did a great job. Enthusiastic community members such as Mowog also impressed MagiQuest production enough with their audition samples to get reads on parts and will be considered for future roles. MagiQuest Online hopes to take more talent contributions from the fan community going forward.

Kudos to Smapty's inspiration and to Mystee and Ja'de for the idea of community member contributors.

How can others submit samples for future roles?

PM me with links to your mp3 samples, preferably all in one zipped file.

Congratulations! :D Wonderful how people from the community are involved in this project. It's nice to think that there will always be something from our community in MagiQuest, whatever happens with it after testing. :)

/me bows.

It was a hoot! The old man part of the character was easy, the tree part, not so. I've got splinters to show for it.

I'm ready to go again, JW. Any time. I've got other voices hiding in here.

I was told they made some changes in post production, so I'm waiting to see just what they did.

Well since I'm from Israel I may not be the best but I would love to help with the voice. What *should* I read in the sample, exactly?

Congrats, Tekno!

I sent in my own rendition of the The Old Man in the Tree, but alas, we were on vacation during the initial call for readings, and I was unable to record and submit the part until too late. I really enjoyed recording that role, but all the same, I'm glad to hear you were selected!

I'm sure looking forward to future opportunities to voice characters in MQO. This is a seriously cool opportunity!

Mowog

I got a chance to hear the finished product. The sfx and music had been added. The copy was edited to be tighter and more concise (the original had more content than was essential) and...they played with my voice. Besides doing a character voice, I had dropped the pitch without changing the timing...they kept the pitch as it was, and sped up the timing. End result: an old but spry talking tree. Now, if we could only get into the forest and run around tasering...uh...wanding things. I want to get back to my roots!

Quick question - used to be, I'd upload files to my web space and provide a link for any who needed it.

Trouble is, that space has disappeared for some reason. It may have just expired. No big deal really, as I hadn't updated my site in a long time, having moved on to other things.

So, with no web space what's the best way to get voice files to you guys? Send them to the MQO FTP? I just had a look at the storage provided by Google Docs, but it's limited - and doesn't support zip files. Can any of you suggest a good, and safe, free online storage solution?

Thanks much,

Mowog
