I can't get beyond the MQ launcher. It downloads the 47 MB to end and then hangs. I keep having to cancel. I've turned antivirus and (Norton) firewall off, but that's made no difference.

Updating MQ... How long should I be waiting for anything else to happen once the blue progress bar has got to the end?

Try again and again and again and again...

That worked for me.

Nice to know that I'm not the only person who had this problem. It took me four times before I finally received everything. After the blue line finished it seemed nothing was happening. Occaisionally the hard disk light would flash. First time, I left it in that state for up to 20 minutes and nothing further seemed to happen although it was still connected with the download site.
I hit the cancel button and then after restarted the launcher. It would get another large download and then seemed to hibernate again. I checked the folder and it seemed to be extracting files but after ten more minutes no further progress.
The third and fourth time I canceled after about five minutes of "hibernation".
The fifth time I reached the log in screen for the game.

So... like realXCV says... try try again.

If you're in, you're further along than this.

Are you using Vista and did you put the launcher in a folder outside of your home folder? (Like C:\Program Files) If so, you need to run the launcher as administrator or change the folder permissions. This only goes for Vista.

No difference. The Updating MQ still hangs at the end of the 47 MB.

My MQ directory is 187 MB with 1302 Files and 4 Folders. There is lots of other stuff that downloads after the original 47 is complete.

I don't know if this will help but I went into (Norton internet security ) and changed the permission in the firewall from auto to Allow just to make sure that wouldn't cause any problems

Then you are getting further than me as well.

Where is your launcher?

I've got this working now. I created a new folder below D:\, put the launcher in that, and I'm now getting 79 MB and not 47 MB.

Thanks, sut. I'm not going to have files unpacked to c:\users\desktop or anywhere else on c:\, if I can help it. That's the OS partition.

Ok... now I have the same hang at the end of the 79 MB.

Cancelled launcher, reran and now I get the hang at the end of 47 MB again. Nothing seems to have changed to the unpacking from the 79 MB.

c:\users\russell\desktop\MQ - download still hangs at the end of 79 MB. No disk activity, just internet activity.

Progress. I left the blue bar for longer this time before I cancelled, and when I restarted, I got 42 MB left. I've just done that, and 4 new prp files have been added to the dat directory. They are empty though, but are being modified (without growing) every minute (hence the internet activity without the disk activity).

Edit. The files aren't growing by adding, they're growing by being reset to 0 bytes and then starting again.

Into1.bik - 0 -> 172 -> 304 -> 400 -> 0 -> ... -> 600 -> 0 ... etc
Courtyard_District_Textures, Global_Clothing_District_Female, GUIDistrict_BkBookImages and PortalWell_District_Textures are behaving similarly strangely. All the while, the blue bar remains at the end of the progress bar.

That's strange it sounds like its on their end the more I think about it because if it was on your end I wouldn't think you would even get any download!! little lone 47 meg of it . Have you tried clicking on Mqexplorer exe if you have that file in your download? may be you will get the rest online . I didn't pay attention to the size of my downloads: total 187 meg

I don't have mqexplorer.

How big is intro1.bik? Mine gets to just over 1 MB before being reset to 0. This is looping.
I've just cancelled the download and all 5 files are now 0 again. :(

Edit: I've just restarted the download and you can see those files grow and shrink back to 0 even during that.
