(Mock confused tone) I'm a little confused about that... would you, for example, be reading stuff like THIS??

probably I collected out of 25 pages in the creative section all the fan fiction stories I could find so if one the list, it will be read but if you rather ready be sure to let us know. Don't know when we get that particular story just yet.

Sorry for the delay Zeke, but we finally got your event posted on the GoMe site:

http://www.guildofmessengers.com/en/cal ... er-stories

Just a quick pro tip: be sure to write your articles in the third person. Otherwise, it sounds like the Guild is hosting it. ;)

Have fun!

After much waiting, we finally have an agreement. The next round of the Cavern Tours will begin next month, on November 11th and 12th of 2016.

We were going to begin earlier this month, but it turned out that both of our gray hats were on vacation and we had to wait for them to get back before we could even start talking about a tour date. Then our Friday night tech, Stone, found out that his employer was going to be giving him overtime. A very large amount of mandatory overtime. Because of that, we will not be running the tours weekly as we did in previous years.

The tours will be held on the second and fourth weekends of each month, except when those weekends coincide with major US holidays. Because of that, there will only be one tour in November and December, since the fourth weekends of each contain Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day respectively.

The tour hours will be the same as last year. The Friday night tour will begin as close to 22:00 KI time as we can manage, and the Saturday tour will begin as close to 13:00 KI time as we can manage.

The tour staff will be the same as last year, with one exception.

The Friday tour will be hosted by Zeke365, with r'Tayrtahn (a.k.a. Shokhootahn Rehn) as the primary tour guide and Stone as the gray hat. I'll be there as secondary / backup guide and color commentator.

The Saturday tour will be hosted and guided by myself with Mirphak as the gray hat. This year, we will be trying something new; Joker, who runs a music channel on urutunes.com, will conduct a music program during what we call "playtime", a period after the tour ends where we give the floor to our gray hats to show us what they can do. This is earmarked for the Saturday tour as an experiment to see how well it integrates. Joker will be trying to come up with a music program themed around the Ages we visited in the tour each time.

And that's it. We hope to see you all there!

The first tour weekend seemed to go well. Everyone in the tour staff was present and on time for both days, which can't always be counted on. That was a good omen for the tour season. On Friday, r'Tayrtahn gave us a good lecture that included a number of points we hadn't heard before. He proved yet again that no matter how much you learn about Uru, there's always more you don't know. The turnout for our first tour of the season was quite good, with over twenty people showing up even at that late (or early) and hour for the Eastern American continents and Europe. It's much more reasonable for the fans from the west Pacific region. Joker provided music for the playtime hour after the tour, an experiment we are trying out this year to see how well it meshes with the atmosphere. He played the Myst Online soundtrack album all the way through.

The Saturday tour also seemed to go well, and had a few more guests than the Friday tour (which is expected, since it's held on a day and hour that is more accessible to the Americas and Europe). The playtime session after the tour was unexpectedly exciting, with Mirphak pulling out the stops to import as many other Ages into the Cleft as he could (I was surprised to find Eder Gira fish traps littering the desert near Zandi's Streamline). Joker played the Myst Online soundtrack again, and followed it up with the soundtrack from Dune. It came as a complete surprise to me when Yoda joined in with Mirphak to provide a "laser light" show, first around the Zandoni, and then atop the volcano. I was so caught up watching that, I neglected to explore and missed most of what Mirphak had done. ^_^;

Please give us your impressions of the tours, since we tried a few new things this year.

I attended the Saturday tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. I encourage everyone to go to these tours. For those who have attended in prior years it is definitely not repetitive. Lots more to learn. The moving of the group via warp was very smooth. The after tour time was great. Can't wait for the next one!

Which will be the second weekend of December, due to Thanksgiving. The third tour will be on the second weekend of January due to Christmas. After that, we'll be settling into a twice-monthly schedule.

The second reminder of three:

There will be an installment of the Cavern Tours this coming Friday, the 9th of December, and Saturday, the 10th of December. Cavern tours are (mostly) in-character walking tours of Myst Online, covering different Ages or areas in each tour. We give lectures about the flora and fauna, architecture, machinery, purposes, and history of the places we visit. We also talk about the people who were involved with them, both historically and more recently.

The whole thing is enhanced by various effects our gray hats use to emphasize features, and we use warping to take you to places you cannot get to in the regular game (Ever wanted to go down to the bottom of Descent? We do that.) It's hard to give a good idea of how it all comes together in words, but the tours are popular, so we must be doing something right!

More info can be found using this link.

Reminder three of three. Tomorrow, Friday the 9th, we will be holding the next installment of the cavern tours. The tour begins at 22:00 KI time... or as close to it as we can manage, given that the primary tour guide and the gray hat work swing shift and have to get home first. The tour will be repeated on Saturday the 10th at 13:00 KI time.

More details here.
