Hello friends of the Magic World.

Our magicians team worked on creating fireworks in the magical ages.
The original idea was the one of Yoda, the specialist of lighting effects.
Thanks to his studies, I was able to make possible viewing these fireworks in all of my magical ages.

So we decided to let you discover them for 11 evenings called "The Magic Fireworks Tour" or "MFT".
Every Thursday, from 13 KI time, Magic Bot will take you into its magical ages for you to discover these fireworks, each more beautiful than the other!
In addition, Magic Yoda reserve us some special effects which he has the secret.

These Magical Evenings will be accompanied by a DJ to make our shows as festive as possible.
Incidentally, if you are a regular DJ in the cavern, we will be happy if you could stream , one or several of these evenings.
Send KI-Mail to Magic Bot or send me a private email on the forum Uru MagicWorlds or Myst Online.

The first MFT show will take place next Thursday at Magic Kveer, then Magic Gahreesen.
There will be three performances of fireworks.
Get connected with Magic Bot at 12.45 KI time.

Just a footnote, but the musical theme will be "Wish You Were Here" :)

As promised, playlist for the "Wish You Were Here" music set accompanying the Negilahn and Great Zero fireworks.

Code:
One of these Days                      Meddle, 1971
Time                                   The Dark Side Of The Moon, 1994
The Great Gig In The Sky               The Dark Side Of The Moon, 1994
Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Part 1-5)  Wish You Were Here, 1975
Welcome To The Machine                 Wish You Were Here, 1975
Have A Cigar                           Wish You Were Here, 1975
Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Part 6-9)  Wish You Were Here, 1975

The previous week, in Magic Minkata, I played an interrupted set of march music, with a hidden meaning. The setlist was as follows.

Code:
Entry of the Gladiators   Julius Fucík
The Aviator               James M Fulton
The Circumnavigators Club John Philip Sousa
The Melody Shop           Karl King
The Purple Carnival       Harry Alford
The Thin Red Line         Kenneth Alford
The Battle of the Winds   Charles Duble
The Fairest of the Fair   John Philip Sousa
The Mad Major             Kenneth Alford
Prince Charming           John Philip Sousa
The Free Lance            John Philip Sousa
The Bride Elect           John Philip Sousa
La Gata Encantada         Pablo Luna
Recognition               John Philip Sousa
Resumption                John Philip Sousa
Hands Across The Sea      John Philip Sousa
L'Inglesina               Davide Delle Cese
Rolling Thunder           Henry Fillmore
The Vanished Army         Kenneth Alford
Revelation                W. Paris Chambers
Carry On                  Herbert Winson
Bravura                   Charles Duble
Proud Heritage            William Latham
Eagle Squadron            Kenneth Alford
By Land and Sea           Kenneth Alford
Semper Fidelis            John Philip Sousa

And the hidden meaning was that they are all used as chapter titles in John Varley's SF novel Wizard.

For his second book about the Titan, John Varley used the titles of marches, mostly by Kenneth Alford or John Philp Sousa, as chapter titles. All three books (Titan, Wizard and Demon) are well worth a look, as is anything else by John Varley. Despite their fantasy-like titles, they are hard SF, with everything explained and consistent with known science.

Varley dedicated the book as follows:

For
K.L. King,
Kenneth J. Alford
and
John Phillip Sousa

Acknowledging the authors of most of the marches he'd chosen.

I plan to make the next theme "Gazeuse!" and use the Gong album with that title. It's a far cry from the Daevid Allen pothead pixies and flying teapots of early psychadelic Gong, and instead is percussion-rich jazz-rock fusion, with an all-French lineup apart from guitar virtuoso Allan Holdsworth.

What I can say is that your choice in music, perfectly coincide with the fireworks in different ages.
Congratulations! And I'm looking forward to next Thursday to hear your selection AlanD.

Thursday, we'll go first to Er'cana for 2 fireworks: the first in the factory and the second on the lake at the bottom of age.
The show will continue in the Magic Hood to see 3 fireworks: the first on the lake, the scond in the garden lights and the finale around the fountain in the square.
This is where the magic meeting will end by the usually dance party illuminated by special effects of Magic Yoda.

See you soon !

Alan
It has been a long time since I have read Titan. Your comments on the music and chapter titles has piqued my curiosity and will reread Titan (early '80's I believe). Thanks for the memories.
