The best you can do is go to the GameTap Help page
There is a possibility for a refund.
Please contact them.

I already contacted before and what i got is:

one automated answer syaing absolutely nothing;
an answer saying that i have to telephone in USA to cancel my subscription!!

I cannot access my data in any way so i cannot remove any information there. Being unable to access my personal data is illegal in Italy.

Now i wrote (few minutes ago) to the gametap customer support and if they don't answer me in the right way i will contact the italian authority for the privacy.

Sorry, but you just loose a Myst fan.

*blinks* How/why would they have your billing info to begin with? I never had to type anything money-related in when I signed up for Uru.

Because i didnt put the code when i signed and i was unable to edit my account to add the code into. Also, i have written to Gametap just after the account creation, but got the answers as i said in previous topic.

I explained the situation to Gametap, and because i live in Italy and i cannot login to Gametap site, i believed i would not be billed. But i'm billed for something i cannot access!!

As said: i cannot edit/remove my account. So, what Gametap expect from me? billing me any month? i have to delete my card to solve this stupid thing??

I must have access to my account information.

Why did you sign up for Gametap anyway? It was plainly stated that it was for the US and Canada only! If you didn't put in the code, then yes, it will bill you. Sorry, this isn't Gametap's fault at all, but yours for not following instructions!

That said, I agree you should be able to get your money back and not be billed, but you are the one who created the mess not Gametap.

First: I didn't signed for Gametap, i signed for the Myst Online closed beta, using the link emailed me. I CANNOT LOGIN into Gametap site, as system say that i am an unknown user.

So, I don't agree with you. I have done a mistake, but in any case gametap didn't answered me, didn't gave me the way to correct the mistake, didnt gave me the access to my account, then Gametap cannot bill me for a service that i CANNOT use. A mistake doesn't mean i have to pay forever gametap because THEY DON'T give me any way to remove my info.

If you had followed the instructions properly, you would never have had to enter your card details. Heck, the instructions even say something along the lines of "If you are asked for your card details, you have done something wrong"!

Having said that, I wish you all the best with getting your money back.

I know. A mistake is a mistake, but i complain because i emailed Gametap as soon as i created the account in the wrong way, getting nothing from them.

Did you try to use the tech support chat, or to open a gametap billing ticket on the Urulive support site?

I am so sorry this is happening. How frustrating it must be.

If you would like me to I am be willing to use your account info to login to GameTap from my side of the ocean and see if I can cancel your account or do anything. I'm already a GameTap subscriber so its not like I want to steal your account or anything. PM me if you want me to try.

There is a way for non US/Canada users to log into their existing GameTap accounts: You must first follow steps A) and B) from the invitation email again, and then log into your account.

I hope that helps.

one thing that has always irritated me about gametap is that you had to call them just to cancel your account. Unlike other online gaming sites that alow you to cancel online. They force you to call on the phone to cancel. Which IMO is rather stupid.

Goodluck on this. You might end up having to call them. GameTap Customer Service Options

Sorry for the HUGE link, but thats what I got when I looked it up on the site. On it , it has the chat link and also the phone number.

Imagethanks mod person ;)

Made url smaller.

I did the same mistake, but haven't been billed yet. I already contacted them twice and they replied, so they should be aware of the problem. If they do bill me, I'm going to get really angry...
