Before the most recent wipe, I hadn't played around with voicechat but I had noticed that I could hear others chatting in the cavern. Now it appears that I have gone deaf. Others report that they can hear me but I certainly can't hear them. The rest of the sounds work fine through my speakers and my headset.

I have, on a few occasions, heard snippets of conversation after going into my audio settings and fiddeling with them. Usually, when I click 'Return to Uru' (or whatever the accept button is labled) I get several seconds of lag. During that lag I have heard half segments, seemingly regardless of my actual settings. Whether I've enabled or disable voicechat that time, I can hear 0.5-1.5 sentences.

I'm using a Creative Labs X-Fi sound card, I don't know what else is relevent to this issue. Is this a known issue? Anybody got any ideas?

Don't know. I can only advise checking out the Audio Settings online and see if changes were made to the "sound priorities" button or the Voice Chat seetings.

Maybe some DirectX tests are appropriate too.

Good luck,

If you find a way to reproduce that, please let us know. I'd love not to be able to hear that stuff.
