It occured to me today, but how was one supposed to leave Er'cana? It's easy for us as we have a Relto book, but the D'ni wouldn't have.

As far as I know, the only official (ie non-Bahro/Yeesha) link out of Er'cana is to the Silo, and there's nowhere to go from there but back to Er'cana. How did the D'ni leave?

They didn't.
Yearly sacrifice of virgins to the lake. They jump in after the pellets. :D

Could be that there's another book waiting to be found, perhaps in the metal structure at the other end of the canyon, or beyond the collapsed rail. :)

Well, i was thinking that, but I was also wondering if that's not an awful long way to go from the important section of the age, just to leave

Up the ladder in the silo, and through the now-locked door, maybe? :)

There is a door at the top level of the Silo. It may be closed to us now but I am sure it could be used by the D'ni.

In the upper part of the silo, there appears to be a blocked archway or door. Perhaps the D'ni used that.

Or am I misinterpreting the architecture?

Oh, yuo think that's a door? Yes that's possible i suppose. Still seems odd that there's no book in Er'cana itself though, to me at least

It almost seems that the D'ni loved to hide there linking books back to the city, rather than making them openly avalible. :X
Usually in caves, or other hidden area's.

Can't remember the reasoning behind this.

probably the DRC removed any such linking books, as they probably led to places that were very fun and interesting and full of dangerous debris...

Or maybe there's a book room in the structure in the cliff wall.

There's a hovercraft tethered to the outside of the silo.

Perhaps there is supposed to be something beyond the broken track. A different structure that would include the book back to the city.

I would imagine that the D'ni wouldn't want to have their linking book in the same building or general area as their furnaces. One of those things explodes, and that's it, they're stuck there.

So, as was said before it's probably in some other building. Or the DRC just took it, whichever works.

Or they simply had a Nexus pedestal (like one in GZ chamber), which is currently removed.
