I think it would be nice to understand what the inscriptions we see all over the Cavern really mean.
Can one of you linguists help to translate what this one says?
And what do we know about that mosaic of a face? Who is it? Why is it there?

I believe this question has come up before, though I cannot remember for certain. You should try here:http://linguists.bahro.com/index.html as it is the home of the D’ni Linguistic Fellowship.

I think the general consensus is that it says "rebahntahno teneeen shemtee" which currently translates to "the something somethings you(pl)". A quickie search on DLF led me to this

Others seem to believe it means "all your age are belong to us". :P

And ireen's post here gives links to a few discussions on the mosaic. :)

I don't honestly think it was ever comprehensively translated.

 I was really hoping it would be at least one of those funny easter egg things, you know, like the writing on the wall of the Gareeshen linking chamber in one of the boxed versions, if I remember correct. What was that again?
Has anyone asked RAWA about it?

Sometimes they use D'ni writing just for decoration - although they should know better now - every single last bit of information is assimilated by this community  ...resistance is futile

The best I can make out is,,,,

On the right it says, 'Beware of Bahro'

That's what my friend said, when I got a packet with my name and adress written on D'ni language
And it arrived to me in just a couple of days. Someone in post office must know D'ni well. So maybe we should call there to find out!
