yes i already thought about that, through a linking book, but it would be hard to store the info of everybodys position and appearance and, well everything in a way so that any user can watch it when he wants.

your vids are the best alternative, and i would hope that if cyan doesnt do these kinds of videos for live that you would do it

Why should this be difficult? They do it now in realtime every time you link into an Age. The server has to send everyone's position and appearance to your computer. And once you're in the Age, all of that information is repeatedly updated to your computer as it changes, as people move around, talk, and do things.

All Cyan has to do is save a copy of this information to a disk during the event.

And later, play it back in a separate "instance" of the Age where the event occurred.

Yes, Epialtes, these films are based on actual transcripts of events that took place in the Cavern. They have been re-created by volunteers because no such video recordings existed at the time of the actual event. We're all glad that the actual participants during Prologue had the foresight to create chat logs or everything that transpired would simply be a fading memory.

wow, so this stuff actually happened in the game... that's crazy... heh, the mystery, the intrigue... i so hope something like this happens in Live once we start playing... (unless i'm actually misinterpreting what you just said, haha)

Something even better will happen in the caverns once Live gets going.

Great Videos. I now finally have something to show ppl what URU-Live is about. Episode 1 works good for that. If they like it then they move on.

That would be wonderful! Stroll into the "Archive/Reference" section of the library, choose the event you want to replay, link in, and watch it happen before you! All you would need to do is turn off avatar collision for that Age when you link in - everyone else would behave as if it were still on, but you wouldn't be able to interfere with events.

I apologize for this late posting of the French translation of "Episode One: Planting the Seeds." These will be posted at the Great Tree Media Page later when we've sorted out our bandwidth problems.

Great movie, it has helped me to remember the events.
I was often in the city but usually not close to the events, though I remembered some snippets of the chat.

only event i joined in was the demonstration to remove the barriers at the top of the great stairs.

Can't wait untill the next installments of the movies.

Regards C'Jay

Okay, that was just too cool!

We showed it at our morning meeting and everybody loved it. What a perfect way to preserve the story for future generations (yeah - I'm thinking positively.)

Thanks so much!
