Last version before launch

Alright, so here we have our final version before launch. Once the servers are back up we will only be looking at bugs that are blocks and crashes. For those not familiar with those terms it is basically things that prevent you from continuing on in the game or causes the game to end abruptly.

The servers will be accessible until Tuesday, February 23, 2010. On Tuesday, we will be taking the servers down again and they will not be available until later in the week. At that point, your account will still be valid, but you will need upgrade to a paid subscription account to continue playing.

There have been some changes between this update and the previous build such as the UI being more centered, and you should now be able to create a male avatar at the start up screen when setting up a new account. Also, there have been some minor fixes to the Book of Wisdom as well as the in game FAQ. Please take a careful look at these and report any major issues that you find.

Moving forward we will be locking the MQO Beta section of the Myst Online forums and all future posts will need to be made in the MagiQuest forums. If you haven’t made an account on these forums yet, please take the time to do so. Please note that all future rehearsal information and invites will be posted here.
We want to take this time to thank you for notifying us of the issues you have encountered through your testing. It is because of you that we can successfully release this game to the public.

How do you register? I can see a login option but no Register button.

Registration is done once via the MQ website and an account is automatically created with the same username and password for support, MyMQ, and the forums. So there is no specific support or forum registration necessary. But please start with the link above.

Is there any way to get the download without using FaceBook? i do not use it or Twitter.

would love to test this but i just dont support all the needless chatter on the internet these days

The Facebook letter is for those who have not yet signed up for a free Beta account using the MyMQ website and only pertains to the Beta period. The post is public - no account necessary. A letter is posted there with instructions for the signup process which involves necessary test credit card info. The letter provides you with a credit card number and other info. At Launch, people will go directly to the MQ Online page at magiquest.com.

Also - during Launch, the main website (www.magiquest.com) will go active and the test domain (test.magiquest.com) will go dark. Although your accounts, support tickets and forum posts at the MQ forums will be preserved, the MQO servers will be wiped for Launch and you'll start over if you get a paid subscription.

Hot off the Cyan update, here's some build notes:

- UI's correctly centered
- UI updates completed
- FAQ updated with info about being able to turn off music thought options screen
- Conclusion BOW page now shows up the correct time
- Male avatar selectable (whew - good news for us guys!)
- Server side optimizations (some lessons learned from MOULagain I think - heh)

Just played through the entire game from start and found it to be trouble free! Good Job to all involved

I did notice one thing in the BOW that I hadn't noticed before

All the videos throughout the game are there as they should be. . .except for one! The video that plays when returning to the quest stone after seeing the Pixie, where Lokari joins the Cloud and hammer runes is missing. Guess that is not really game stopping but it is inconsistent

Finished once again today and I have no remarks so far.
Plaued it at ease and tried to do many other things you might try when you play it for the first time.
White Owl now coming out of a hollow tree. New Finishing video. . Mmm Chapter2 maybe?? :wink:

I gave up trying to figure out what and where to sign up. I got as far as login to Facebook, tried following links in other posts but am lost. I even went to MQO site, is that where for $9.99 I use the credit card info in that one letter?

Yep! But the letter says to use January, 2010 as the expiration date. That's because the letter was written in January. Now that it's February, use an expiration of February, 2010 (i.e. use the current month).
