Magic Dust request

I request that some of the gray hats devise some semitransparent Magic Dust that can be spread around any age and collect visibly on invisible surfaces so that the invisible surfaces can be seen.

If this could be done in the Fun House, then the dust could carry over to the other ages thus making invisible surfaces visible in different ages.

Interesting concept.

For it to work though, I think the amount of dust available for each player would have to be minute. Enough to maybe spread out 1 double jump away, perhaps in all directions, but no more. Also only available once per time period. Like once a day, or once a week. This might promote team play.

Oh, okay... That's not possible with the external client (what is downloaded from the MOUL server) AFAIK.

In SL, this is called "Highlighting Transparencies." I use it all the time, but never gave it much thought. Now that I know it can't be done in Uru, it makes me wonder how it's done in SL.

In SL I'd imagine it just looks for objects set to a transparency of 100% and then highlights them. Can't remember if it works with objects at 0% transparency with a transparent texture in use...

It's definitely an interesting thought (especially for Uru) though.

It's can be done in Uru, just not with the publicly available client. Sorry about not being clear on that.

One of the things I've been intending to do is to make a "Writer" build of the client for public use. Handing out the internal client would be like handing everyone a bazooka. The "Writer" client would change the bazooka into a gun pointed at your own foot. ;)
