Dear friends and Cave neighbors,

It says Total account : 70349

I suggest that we give Cyan $10.00 dollars today per account we hold....
honestly we need to show gratitude for what was given to us , a lot of us still hang out in the cavern make friends and have fun , this was given to us for free by Cyan . I personally am not even inclined to ask what and why the cavcon was wrong It does not matter . What is important is that Us , for once can show gratitude and keep the fun in the cavern for all .
Cyan does not owe us , We owe Cyan years of fun !
So lets us together bring cavcon to level 5 today ! thank you for reading my little comment , as I must go now do my part ! lol . Christine from the DMR.

This is exactly why we made our widget available to everyone. We'd love to see it used to support MOULa.

And Chogon, both your CAVCON ideas are just great.
I hope they can be implemented soon, and without too much labor on Cyan's part!

These solutions would be the next best thing to having an in-cavern meter visible to all.
(...but I do understand that such a meter could break that delicate IC/OOC barrier, possibly violating some Cyan tenets!)

Also, you can get rid of the iframe. Under the "Advanced topics" you'll read this: "If your page is written in PHP, you could use the cURL library to fetch the widget output and build it into your page. This would allow you to use the IDs and classes along with your own page CSS to apply styling. For this, you need to ensure that all unwanted inline styling is removed from the widget by using the ?type=raw control."

Great ideas Chogon. I know it'd be some work for Cyan Worlds to do all that, but it should be effective.
As for the 'fan fixes' - I take it that means the sparklie fix too?

Anyway... We're still at CAVCON 2. That is a serious problem.

We have over 70,000 accounts but not all of them are real players.
Some are spambots, duplicate accounts, or players that are no longer active.
If we're looking at real players... it's a smaller number.

That said, I'm convinced we have the capacity to reach CAVCON 5 if we're determined to do so.

Hey JW, unless it is your intent to FORCE everyone to customize, shouldn't the default be something that works for most people as-is?

You know the widget is going to a page that requires a minimum of 970px wide... you may as well make that the default width. And something a bit taller.

If I recall correctly, we originally made it that size to fit in or under the phpBB masthead. Since then, we moved to styling it into site navigation and phpBB without the iframe.

I have a feeling no one size will make everyone happy. So the question is what would make the most people happy. Perhaps 970px - dunno. But rather than clutter up this thread, anyone wishing to express their favorite default iframe size, please tell us your preference, or add comments and questions, in our "How To Add Cavern Status To Your Own Website" thread, here:

Okay, in response to D'Lanor and Marten, and a fine suggestion from Leonardo, who also helped implement it (thanks!), we have an update to our Cavern Status widget.
