Is Douglas Sharper REALLY back?

I just encountered one Doug Sharper in Ae'gura. I don't like to give out other people's KI numbers, but... well IS it really him?

I seriously doubt it. There hasn't been any activity by the DRC in years and since people can now change into the custom avatars using the H'uru client, its probably an imposter.

Well, that's why I'm hoping to get the Official Word from Cyan - such as RAWA or Chogon.

If I were you, I'd submit a ticket on it and include the KI # and a chatlog if you've got one.
It's against the TOS to use the name of a game character.

It wouldn't make much sense for Cyan to bring a character into the cavern while the DRC site is still down.

Sharper isn't a custom avatar. This has happened before mind you, but in order to pull off a trickery of playing someone like Sharper or Nick White you need to actually commit some time to getting the avatar to look like these characters when customizing them. As opposed to someone like Watson or Sutherland where you just use the custom avatar.

After the "Doug1as" fiasco I would be surprised if the nickname "Doug" would not be blocked too. But perhaps there was an oversight...

But as far as i am aware, the official name has always been "Douglas", not Doug".

As it turned out, apparently our ever-vigilant ResEng tracked down our mystery man, who turned out to be fake, after all, and, for some strange reason, managed to change his name to Doug Duller - but with the same KI number.

Oh, well, it was fun while it lasted.
