D'L, did you miss the fun and games with PhysX 2.6.0 in a W2K environment at the beginning of build 8? Refused is as good a term as any. Click to install and absolutely nothing happens, indefinitely. No error message, nothing.

I guess I missed it because I and a few others at that point were having, and still have, our own PhysX 2.6.0 issues which we were trying to overcome.

btw, there are several tools to figure out what goes on in the background even if "nothing" seems to be happening. For example the freeware Process Explorer, Regmon and Filemon tools from SysInternals which were recently acquired by Microsoft. Perhaps someone with Win2K could use these and help eliminate the guesswork?

Their problems were easier to fix than yours, D'L. There's a workaround now for W2K.

Hey, Jahuti, being aware of the different problems that both of you had, I'm sure he isn't.

For build 8, I got an error while attempting to install the PhysX on a W2K system (hoping that unsupported /= unusable)...

I don't recall exactly what it said, but it was something like "msmin.exe encountered an error (blah, blah, blah)...." (*points to herself as being the aforementioned "technically incompentent" one compared to the geniuses we got running around here!*)

I am glad to hear there is a workaround, now, though. I can live with "unsupported" if I can find a way to work it myself...

L'lee, send a PM to Paradox22 if you are still trying to use Ageia in W2K.

Thanks! I was searching for where the discussion took place and couldn't find it!

(Part of the problem with having a version of forum software that won't allow multiple levels of sub-forums, I guess... It's a "searching" nightmare as well!)

Well, this thread is getting a little testy, isn't it?

L'lee, I don't think you'll find the discussion any more, following a particular line of GreyDragon's, hence my request to send a PM.
