Unfortunately, I get a virus warning from Avast! antivirus.

Not the kind of life I expected. ;)

That poor site continues to have one trouble after another. It would be such a shame to lose the invaluable and extensive collection of information there. Maybe it's time to archive it into the Wayback Machine before it's completely lost. Something needs to be done before it's lost to us forever. :(

What the heek are you talking about?

The site was down for a scheduled physical location change. The greetersguild domain always redirected to the guildofgreeters domain. I even noticed some subtle updates to the forum... my tablet browser no longer goes into a reload the page loop.

Just because very few people post on the forum does not mean people don't read it as well as the associated web site. Frankly, this forum isn't particularly busy these days either. I see more action on the Cyan forum. Some OBsession about Obduction...

I noticed the Guild of Greeters site has been down the past few days. Anyone have any news on when it might be back up?

That is not good.

Ever since Uru Obsessions site demise, the Guild of Greeters site has been the best place for new explorers to go for help.

During the last downtime there was at least a few new explorers who just gave up after being frustrated with Minkata and the marker quests. I was told this while helping someine in Eder Gira.

I know some say they shouldn't need this, but in reality some just aren't going to wait.

As stated above it would be nice to have this information replicated somewhere else.

You could direct them to the Guild of Sleepers website.

If I google “Minkata walkthrough”, this is the very first link I get.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I just love the GoG site. In my case I created a new avie to use in the Fabulous Magical Treasure games. The GoG site is so helpful.

Is there a way to notify whoever maintains the GoG site? Or is it enough to post here.

There are enough regular users of the GoG site that I'm sure Tech knows there's a problem. He and Tij have a lot of things to do, though, so it may take some time to sort out.

They'll get it taken care of I'm sure. After all 'outsiders cannot run a guild... website', and they've had this one running forever so, it's in good hands. ;)

It appears the site might have been hacked so I suspect Tech shut it down remotely. I'm not sure if Tech is where he can put hands-on the H/W and get access to backup media. Until that happens, the site will probably be down a while. (Hoping I'm wrong as usual :D )

You can get good hosting services for less than $40 or $50 per year these days.

[tongue in cheek mode] I respectfully disagree :P [/tongue in cheek mode]

Thank you Tai'lahr.
When I first set up the Sleepers forum (and then the website) I didn't want to have the information the Greeters already had, but when last year their site started to become unreliable, I decided to start putting up info they have. I have fallen behind on this task, and for that I apologise.

Forgive me if I disagree ... you might be talking about "official" guilds, in which case you are correct.
