Btw, it is not clear to me if you have used to same fix on both Pcs or not.

No "fix" on either PC, they are what they are. But thanks for the procedure to find the graphics card type in the laptop, since using it fixed the problem. I think the problem is probably not related at all to the graphics card or lack of graphics card. More likely it has to do with the difference between "Windows 7 Ultimate" and "Windows 7 Home." Different graphics drivers, maybe?

Me remember all the hard work you had to run Myst & Riven and the older QT version 4.1.2 ¸you found that we could play those 2 games.

For more infos about your PCs, you can run and register a "dxdiag"... report.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit machine and here is part of report found in my documents....

""Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
(7601.win7sp1_gdr.150715-0600)

System Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.3GHz
Memory: 6144MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 6100MB RAM
Page File: 2310MB used, 9887MB available

Driver File Version: 8.17.0010.1124 (English)
Driver Version: 8.960.11.1000""

P.S.
Have you compared the setting (properties) of the MOULa icons on both the PCs ?
....compatibility mode and Run as administer box ticked ?
I am running mine with windows XP (Service Pack 3) compatibility and lower window line "privilege Level" run as administrator.

Windows 7 can very fussy at times.

I am not sure if this is where I need to ask. I've looked the forum over, and cannot find a topic that covers my issue. I downloaded the manual as well, and did not see a solution.

I have an email address as a login for Myst Uru Online. However, that email is going away as it is tied to an ISP company and not a generic email from Google, Yahoo, etc. I have changed my email here on the forums, but I do not know how to change the login email address that was set up when I first downloaded and installed Myst Uru Online. I am hoping that I will not have to create a new account and start over from the beginning. Is there a way to change the email user name for the online game without having to create a new account and start over?

The game uses the email as a username, so it’s not possible to change it, unfortunately.

Thank you for the link. I can continue to use the old email address for the game. My one concern would be when I donate through PayPal. According to the instructions on your "Donate" page:

DONATING WITH PAYPAL

You can click on the button below. During the checkout process, please click on MO:UL Account and Player ID and enter both your Account (email address you used to sign up for MO:UL) and your Player name. We’ll need both—spelled correctly. Thanks!

I am not sure if this process will need me to have access to that old email address, especially since it is not the email address I use for PayPal.

It's non-essential for donations. The point there was to ensure that "reward" (something that Cyan had hoped to do, but never achieved) went to the correct avatar and for that they would need the email address to identify the account and the avatar name within that account - it's trickier with only the avatar name. It wouldn't need the email address to be accessible.

I have a new Rig with Win 10 Pro and I need advice as to which PhysX Legacy to use. Do I use 9.12.1031 which was the last one I used on Win 7 or 9.13.0604 that goes up to Win 8?

I'm not sure it matters, but I think I'd always try the newest version first.

Well ... I haven't been here since December 2013. It's good to know this is still going.

I have a (n old) problem though. When I try and set up URU for the first time in W10 Pro I get a tmp file and a dll error - The code execution cannot proceed because MSCVP71.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

What do I do here please?

ETA I've found another related post and Chogon's support files. I'm cooking on gas - 80 times faster than when I first played URU prolog.

d3dx9_27.dll missing
