Here's some food for thought:
The first, public building in Gahreesen - where regular D'ni citizens could link into and grab a KI - is a pentagon. As we know, five shaped/pointed/etc. stuff seems to be a popular design trend in D'ni.
The restricted second building, however, is a hexagon. Seems to me that the high-level maintainers were trying to get across a pretty obvious message with this: that they were one level of greatness ahead of regular D'ni folk. Consider also the way the second building towers menacingly over the first (like in this iconic design image)
This also leads me to believe that the hexagonal, isolated building in the top right of this map may be the maintainer's guild building.
