EDER DELIN - still snowing ?

a warm hello to the CYAN's game maintenance crew. i would like to inform you that there is still winter and snowing in Eder Delin :shock:

would you care to change it please ?

I just happen to have a Delin in my Hood.
It's late in the month of May, and still snowing.

Who said Eder Delin can be found in the northern hemisphere on the surface? For all we know, Eder Delin's planet has some kind of poorly understood esoteric orbital mechanics. I think it is time to dispatch an astrophysicist to the Age to study its solar system.

true Adam, however the seasons changed regularly every year until now. as far as i know they won't change automatically, it has to be done manually by CYAN.

we have many new players doing door runs for and this 'situation' is a bit embarrassing. so i hope that CYAN won't forget us. after all it is us that always jump in to help and support them whenever they need it.

Why on earth should it be "embarrassing"? It is what it is, and you're only conscious of an issue because you know that there was a "schedule" in the past. For a totally new player, they know no different so it will be more of a surprise for them if/when the season does change. It's not like it affects playability.

Traditionally, someone at Cyan would look out the window and manually adjust the Delin seasons to match. I have a hard time believing it's still winter in Mead, WA.

Come on, Cyan, you haven't forgotten us, have you? I miss Springtime in Eder Delin!

well Marc, i told them in advance what to expect without checking it first :oops:

as i usually explain about the ages, history, how they work and the procedure (as they usually ask for that). we had a door run in that age and we all thought it would be nice to know more about it. someone started telling anyway and then asked me to finish. yes, i should have checked but who would expect snow in May ? so yes, it felt a bit embarrassing when we found winter instead of expected summer.

It seems Climate Change has come to Eder Delin.

RAWA was the one who changed the seasons in Delin and he is still struggling to recover from a life altering illness, so this is probably very low on his list of priorities.

I believe he was doing this of his own accord as a favor to the fans, so we shouldn't expect anyone else at Cyan to do it because they made it clear when they re-opened the cavern that we shouldn't expect anything to happen.

We should expect snow to remain in Delin indefinitely and of course, someone to start the same thread again every spring.

You all are insane thinking that some entity can change the seasons of an entire Age. Such writing into a descriptive book carries potentially catastrophic changes. Let us study this interesting phenomenon and await the next spring. Doggone it, where is my telescope?

to change the entire season in our Delin ages actually did it ! thank you Chogon
