(Oh dear the pun in that title is horrible..)

Hi everyone!
If you will allow me do to a bit of self promotion I have something that I think will be of interest for lovers of puzzles and beautiful games.. :)
I haven't been really active here lately; because something special has kept me *very* busy. And today I'm happy to finally be able to announce it. A while ago (3 years) I grew tired of working on other people's projects so I started my own company, Littlefield Studio, and for the last 3 years we have been working on an atmospheric puzzle game. (Myst and Uru lovers should feel right at home)
Introducing: Machinika Museum!

Without spoiling too much, Machinika takes place in the future in a museum dedicated to alien technologies and artifacts. You find yourself working here as a technician where you must study and fix alien machines. But today's latest delivery is different: you're being told it is urgent and no one will tell you why. Only one way to get answers: solve mechanical puzzles; and find clues to understand what is really going on...
Machinika will be available in a couple months for iOS and PC. It was always developed as a mobile game (I am a fan of the series 'The Room'), but I thought, I'm a PC gamer, why not do a PC version as well.. Also we are evaluating making a Mac version too.

Demo available
The full game will be here in a couple months, but today we are releasing a demo! :) The very beginning of the game, just enough to give a taste.
It's available for PC: >> PC Download
And on the App Store: >> App Store

Until then; if you've read this far, congrats you deserve a gameplay video: >> YouTube Video.

Aloys, a million congratulations!

The demo looks great, plays well too. You (and whoever else is included in your "we" at Littlefield) have really done a good job of learning Unity development: lighting, texturing including bumpmapping, and especially the various graphic overlay game elements and camera moves are all at high levels.

Major Kudos!

We don't have a release date yet, but development is pretty far along, should be in a couple months.

Downloading now, and will be playing the demo tonight. Bless you for making this for PC and not mobile. I LOVE "The Room" games and was frustrated when The Room 3 came out on mobile alone (at first). I can understand their feeling that the mechanical manipulations are more fun and intuitive when using fingers on a touch screen, but the visuals on a tiny screen cannot be as glorious compared to my oversized monitor. Will the full version be distributed on Steam? It's our household's common platform now, but I'll buy a stand-alone too if that's an option.

Very cool!

And I see that the iOS version should run on iOS 9. I feel Fireproof Studios made a serious mistake limiting their most recent episode/version of The Room to iOS 10 and later, cutting out the folks who made them successful on their older hardware like my 3rd Gen iPad. (No updates beyond iOS 9.) A game like this really needs a PC or tablet sized screen to do the artwork and detail justice. It's just not the same on my newer iPhone.

Very fun, keep up the good work! It even runs on my old hardware. If the game does well, maybe put it into VR, it has a nice tactility that would feel nice in VR.

In fact we are looking into it right now.

I'm not entirely sure why they did that. Just a quick glance at the wikipedia page doesn't bring anything specific to iOS 10 that would explains it..I do remember that my old iPad mini 1 (from 2013 or so) struggled a bit with The Room 3.. I guess they might have want to make sure their lastest game could only run on hardware that could really run it well.

I always thought of doing that; even right from the start, it's just that at the time it didn't make of lot of commercial sense. But yeah, if things go well I'd love to do at least a bit of research there. :)

That's a good question. We haven't looked at Gog.com yet. Personnally I love Gog; they have so many great old adventure games. :D And I love their simple no DRM policy. So I'd love to publish on it; it's just not the priority right now.

Thanks for replying so quickly. Good to know that you at least consider it a possibility. :)
