I just thought of this. How can we be feeding the lake of the main instance when we're dumping pellets in our personal instances of Uran silo? I thought that the main instance affects the other instances but not vive versa.

Selective reverse cascading, I shall call it.

Do not try to understand instancing. It will make your head explode and do some other nasty things to your, your pc and your family.

Or in other words: The instances are a compromise to circumvent game play and technical problems. Neither Cyan nor we are happy with it but it's the only feasible way.

Well, I have some understanding of it, in that I've rationalised it in-game, but it doesn't answer the question. Or rather, it answers it "we can't," which isn't the right answer.

I shall have to think some more about it.

See, this is what happens when you try to make an IC explaination for what is clearly an OOC mechanic. I told you this wouldn't end well, Laxman! But nooo, you had to accept the premise of that person's question.

That's really the only answer to this question. Coming up with an elaborate excuse for it will only become more tangled with each new contradiction.

Linking once had simple rules. It's a pity they couldn't stick with those.

Yeah, this is precisely why I don't like the IC acknowledgement of instances.

I just wish that stupid machine would stop displaying "1"... this thing is NEVER gonna get lit!

(With the massive amount of pellets falling in that water now, such incredibly slow progress is pretty unreasonable...)

The same way we calibrated the main Great Zero by feeding data into 'hood instances of it, of course.

What make you think it is your own instancy?
You linked with your pellet from your own instancy to one of many dropping places in the "main instance."
From there, you drop it into the "main lake instance"

To proof this theory:
Jump with your pellet into the water and swim to the city.

I will be there to welcome you!

LOL

I'm starting to believe that the meter is not a percentage measurement, but perhaps a scale measurement from 1-10 or something like that. I would think that by now it would have reached at least 2% if it was a percentage.

Hear hear!! Why can't Cyan leave anything OOC? Why not just leave instances as an OOC device and simply not acknowledge them in-cavern? The city instances are not in the Nexus, after all. It was good for them to create instances, but I honestly don't know why they felt that they needed to make them IC. In the end it's not at all a huge deal, but it's just silly and not neccessary. Does anyone want to defend that decision?

Oh, the tangled web we weave...
