I just entered for a second time my pellet score in the imager
and I realize that the point system is not cumulative on an individual basis. It doesn't make sense no ?.....

Well I really thing it's should be changed....

1- to be able to compare our scores with other explorers

2- To keep track of our own total score

3 - It's ok to compete with other hoods but in fact it's not very fair.. .Some hoods are very populated compare to others........

So yes please, somehow show my ''total'' points each time I update.

 I thnk you're got the whole intent backwards...

The pellets are intended to repair the lake and light the cavern. The scores are bevin accumulative since this is a group effort. :P The REALLY nice thing about it is you can load your pellet score onto any bevin viewer that you want to - so you can help out your own, or help out somebody else's.

:P I think it's genius! :P

I agree with you, Misterzen; in fact, I have already put in a suggestion ticket and it has been brought to the attention of the developers.

I feel that individual cumulative scores are as important as the hood cumulative scores, and should be posted as such, rather than individual contributions. Like Heek scores, the top ten contributors in each hood could be posted.

So what?

What is the benefit, the reward, to the hood? Is it just bragging rights? That would be pretty empty incentive. Where is the cumulative hood total displayed? What does it mean? Does the specific hood's lake get brighter? Or do all instances get brighter simultaneously? If they all get brighter, what's the point of hood donations? If each instance's lake brightness is dependent on the hood cumulative total, what possible hope is there to accumulate enough points to make a difference when the public instance is going to take so long with the combined totals of all explorers?

It's a start, but it's not fully baked yet. Not enough for me to give my points away without knowing the consequences. There are too many questions and not enough answers to make a donation in good judgement. These questions should be put to the DRC during this week's story.

Waaaaay back whenever, I missed the bit of info where GD told us that our pellet points were going to be worth something, but many people assured me he said so.

So I'm not giving mine away to any 'hood until it becomes clear that that's what the points are good for--bragging rights on a 'hood imager.

And if that's what the points are good for, then I'm really going to relax my baking schedule. A lot.

I'm just hoping that isn't what GD meant. Putting my name on a 'hood imager is not worth much to me.

With that said, I have no idea how to answer this poll, because I don't recommend changing something until I understand how it currently works, which I don't.

Calm down, everyone. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

...

And if we don't, then I'm keeping my pellet score.

It'd be nice to have some in-game feedback letting you know you're about to lose the last month's worth of work with a single-click. I didn't know I was going to be giving my points away until after it happened.

I'd like to find out in-game what its all about first before demanding it be changed.

No no no! Demand first, find-out-what-it's-all-about-in-game later.

Really, the system should show individual accomplishments. We're not communists, pulling the laziest among us along on our coatails.

I guess there are more arguments for it, but they should make the system more customizeable. It wouldn't take much and some people care about their personal scores. Teamwork is another good argument, but I'd then have to direct your attention to napping coattail riders. :D

Sheesh, I certainly don't want my first posting of over 250,000 points to be overwritten by the measley 15000, I have now. :(

Good total, Vanyel! Don't worry, it won't be overwritten. The hood list shows highest individual scores, so your 250K+ points will remain visible until several other dedicated bakers surpass it.

Well I think they are listening to our request........

Here's a comment from Lakman in a chat.
Quote:
Victor Laxman:
I wanted to verify that the number shown in your KI is just the points you haven't donated yet...

Victor Laxman:
The KI is also keeping track of your total, but that is not displayed anywhere yet.

Victor Laxman:
That's yet another thing on my list.

its a simple thing they gave us the ability to show what we got on a 5 lot basis, every 5l I post by score so that others in my bevin can attempt to match or beat it. So far the best weve done is 997 per pelet. A good average is 960 ish.

Ok, now that Laxman has clarified, I've now voted. Thank goodness the KI will be keeping a running total, even if we can't see it yet.

Next question for Laxman: What does it do for the explorer, for the hood, for the hood instance, and for the public instance?
