The DRC now has given us all a KImail that shows a diagram as to the preferred result from our Ercana oven baking. But I've also noticed that the original KImail that suggested that the glow we originally wanted was ORANGE.

Has this changed? Do we only want pellets that return the midrange mark on the pellet reader, white or orange glow? Or should we be reviving the Bahro cave formula as we tried in the beginning?

Feels like to many cooks in the kitchen to me, I'm confused.

The orange glow pellets are the ones that make up the blue and white areas on the meter graph (more intense glow makes puts it higher in that range). White glow pellets are higher on the meter than orange glow pellets and in the red zone on the graph, so I would assume they want us to keep making orange pellets.

Now I've been using my 45, 30, 25 recipe for ages now and it always reads 3/4 of the way up the pellet scanner. So I don't think that observation is entirely correct Swimmery. I always get a bright orange glow and 3/4's of the meter. Now I could be wrong [it's happened before :P ] I'll play with the recipe and report back.

John, the tablet next to the book when you drop pellets is the link to the Bahro cave.
In there on the wall is a recipe for pellets. Look at the symbols and count the bars for the numbers to plug into the ovens in Ercana.
All they're saying is that you're probably doing it right.

If you are making pellets that get 900-1000 points, then the pellet meter should be going about as high as the "best" mark on their diagram.

If you are trying to get the pellet meter to scan to the top, you are trying to do the wrong thing.

That's all they're saying. It's stuff you already knew, but had never had confirmed by the DRC.

Thank goodness the DRC finally got off their duffs and started giving us real information like this!

From what I've heard, people who use the high-intensity orange glow pellets (including myself, using the 30-30-30 recipe) have the meter go up about 60%, and those who use the white glow pellets have it go up 75%. However, playing the game on a different computer with the same pellets showed the meter going higher, but the same amount of points and the same glow. I think there might be some graphics skewing going on in the silo (skewing has been happening for quite a while for some people in the avatar customization screen) and one of my computers (which one, I don't know ) is affected. It's entirely possible that I'm the one whose wrong.
