Lately me and my buddies have had a great deal of fun searching all the Ages for those tiny little holes that open an amazing view to what lies just out side the Age.

How does one obtain shots like these? Are they artifacts caused by video problems or are they purposely staged?

All you have to do is to find the spot I was standing on and turn around very slowly until the world opens up to you. Some scenes can be seen only in frist person. :wink: :wink:

The third-person camera can slip outside the boundaries of the model, is what happens.

I found a nice one last week: go to the Spy Room, jump up on the linking book podium, and then jump towards the telescope. (I did this in first-person.) You can get a decent -- if very brief -- view of the DRC office building.

Just because it's in the model, doesn't mean it'll open up next month. It might just have been easier to add a wall than to delete the blocked-off room.

Or they could change it in the next update.

I've been finding (and ticketing) stuff like this for quite some time. Support refers to the anomaly as clipping. It's all over the place.

I've encountered it most frequently in Er'cana -- it's here, it's there, it's everywhere. :P I find the anomaly so fascinating that when Er'cana was first released, I spent a week or more doing nothing but ticketing instances of clipping. I could barely move without hitting one!

That always made me wonder. They have a large part of the building dragged over plus window. And yet.. all we see ever is the inside.

Did they port it from the city geometry, and prep it.. then suddenly decide not to let you pan about the telescope like some others to see what's around it?
I mean, Cyan doesn't do something like that unless there's a plan or reason.. not when it'd be so much easier to just make a room with the appropriate stuff in the void, and make the telescope camera point into there.. but instead they show us that yes it is indeed that corner open area you can see from the plaza.

Why? It's not like it's actually there, so it can't be a bizarre visnoding thing..


Eh. I guess I'll just end up wondering about that one.. kinda like why the anti-Kadish vault is inside Kadish Tolesa..

That looks like one of the buildings that can be seen from the very back of the Ferry Terminal by the docks... I wonder if that's where the spyroom is?

If I remember right, in Uru CC one of those windows was open and you could see which window it was from below in Tokota alley.
I think the reason you have such a narrow field of vision with that scope is because the hole it is looking through is too small, you wont want it to be seen from the outside or else it wouldn't be so secret.
