UruObsession posted that Laxman linked in for a bit, but doesn't have any details. Does someone have a chatlog or did he just link in to dance in the fountain? :P

Yes. I met with Laxman in the Council hood. More news on that later.

He was not dancing in the fountain. 8)

The DRC should do more one-on-one meetings like this. To my mind, it's far more enjoyable to read a coherent dialogue between a game character and a real explorer, where each are actually interacting with each other, than to be actually present at a disorganized lag-filled mob scene where communication in either direction seems impossible.

Don't know, aaronius. Because the other people won't have a chance to ask any question, or to get the info first hand, that don't seams such a good idea.

Peaple just need to behave themself when one of the drc shows up, that would be the solution....

I'm satisfied. I thought my idea for daily pellet monitor was a good one, and apparently so did others.

Now I know the problem is they can't implement it, or at least not without changing design. They don't even keep track of pellet points except player-specific.. just lake points.

However this will be interesting now. If we're getting the actual lake points.. now the league of light or their successor or whomever can see if they have a result by dumping bad pellets in... seeing the average drop or rise.
Heck, we might NEED bad pellets.. if we find out that we're geting high numbers, some people can drop anti-pellets to bring that down.. now there's a thought.

Trouble is if you want to stop the lake-lighting.. this means the best way is to make spikes. And ironically it's not achieved by dumping bad pellets.. it's by super-saturating the lake with your high-yield recipies en masse. Which is what that group is protesting anyways.

Well, we'll see how this pans out. I think it actually won't make as big a change as we might hope.. but feedback can't be denied.

People are never going to totally behave when they've been starved for attention. We need both, private and public meetings. Private meetings for people that have gotten their attention and need a chance to talk about it, and public meetings for the general populace with questions to ask. If I feel represented, I see no reason the representatives couldn't be brought back to have some more of these private chats.

Personally, I keep myself from being starved for content by treating player characters like DRC, having meaningful conversations about events and asking for their thoughts and feelings on things. This means when Kodama comes in three feet from me, I don't feel the need to blurt out a bunch of questions that he can't answer any better than someone else can that's about alot more often.

It's not really my place in this thread, but it would be great to see this good discussion in the chatlog thread. 8)

I agree with JohnSmythe, I think a combination of one-on-one meetings with the public appearances can give us a lot more information in the long run. Obviously the people who have been able to do this so far have demonstrated talent, knowledge and passion for what they are trying to accomplish and that has enabled them to have these meetings. (my hat is off to those who have done it because they have made a difference.) This is going back to the "See a need, fill a need" concept. I think it is badly needed and more of us need to step up to the plate.

I would add that I would very much like to see better means for this information to be available to us in the cavern in transcript form as in JW's post - perhaps the means to copy text from the conversation directly into a notebook distributed in large enough numbers that it is easy to get to them or into KI mail that cannot be altered by readers and has scroll arrows.
