Ever since I posted the common problems thread, and the 1.871 patcher fixed most remaining problems, I have noticed that the large majority of problems being posted are stack dumps. To cut down on the number of stack dump threads, and to keep the common problems thread clean, I have stickied this thread for anyone to post any stack dump errors they come across. I am also going to update the common problems thread with the information that many of these stack dumps appear to be caused by PhysX for some reason.

Any stack dump threads that currently exist will be left alone, but any new ones will be merged with this thread and any stack dumps posted to the common problems thread from now on will be moved here. Posting these stack dumps may prove useful, so feel free to do so, but please post them here instead of creating an entirely new thread for them. Make sure you include your Operating System and Patcher version when making your post.

Tahgtahv's previous thread for examining stack dumps can be located here.
If you experienced your stack dump while running Linux/Mac, please post your stack dump to the Linux/Mac specific thread here.

Thank you,
~ Drakmyth

Following is a summary of known problems. Please check this list before posting. Look at your stack dump, see if any lines match an address line listed here. If not, or you are unsure, please post yours. Also, if you have a potential solution to any of these problems, please post and I'll add information about it.

If you have a stack dump that you can reproduce consistantly, please try this program. Unzip this in to your MOUL directory and run the included .bat file from there. When MOUL exits, either normally or by crashing, you should have a file log.txt. You may zip that and send it to me by email (link below). This program is currently in Beta so let me know any problems you have with it. I will add to it depending on what additional features may be necessary to help with diagnosing stack dumps.

Hi, I also opened a ticket on this one, but maybe you can give me a clue before them:
Windows 7, nVidia GeForce 6600 GT
At startup, after accepting the license, I see the little "Starting URU, please wait.." for a few seconds, then this pops up:
UruLive.Live.1.871 - External.Release
Exception type: Access violation
Call stack (14 levels):
0x00464257
0x00462E58
0x00461D34
0x00455471
0x0045207C
0x0047291E
0x0047266E
0x6E177A31
0x6E1792AB
0x6E174A38
0x6E17C0F4
0x6A04D9C4
0x6A04D8B9
0x6E17B750
Here's mine again from the other thread:
UruLive.Live.1.871 - External.Release
Exception type: Access violation
Call stack (14 levels):
0x0045723C
0x00456DAB
0x0052D000
0x0053550C
0x004648BA
0x00506DEF
0x00553C74
0x00553336
0x008190B5
0x00817BEB
0x006D7FB1
0x006D7B92
0x0073F149
0x005AEB36
According to your list, the only line of that matches one of the known problems is this one:

Address: 005AEB36
Problem: SDL issue
Diagnosis: This might be caused by the python or SDL files not being downloaded properly.
Solution:

I have deleted my original game folders and files from my initial download, and re-downloaded from one of the other official sources. I still get the stack dump right before I get to the initial avatar creation screen. I have never been able to get to that screen, or get into the game.

A couple weeks ago, I updated my PhysX installation, and updated my graphics drivers to the current versions. Neither helped.

Can you give some more information on what "This might be caused by the python or SDL files not being downloaded properly" means? Any other ideas or solutions?

These files get downloaded each time you start the game so reinstalling the game won't help. Not sure what the problem might be as no else seems to have this issue. Can you post your system specs, including OS and network speed?

This seems to be another SDL issue. I must say I'm really confused as to why anyone is having problems with SDL.

SDL stands for State Description Language. It is used to keep track of the state of each age.

Try deleting the TOS.txt file in the Uru Live directory. This should force the patcher to validate and replace any corrupted files. If one of the SDL files is corrupted, this should fix it.

Hmm, I thought I mentioned this here but apparently it was elsewhere. The SDL files (along with the python) are downloaded each time you start the game. Forcing it to check the files wont help in this case.

I submitted a ticket, but they said just to ask around here. :/ Any idea what any of this means? I don't get any of this stack dump stuff. D:

"UruLive.Live.1.871 - External.Release
Exception type: Access violation
Call stack (14 levels):
0x00000000
0x00000000
0x00000000
0x00000000
0x00000000
0x00000000
0x00000000
0x7C817077
0x008BF8F8
0x00464257
0x00462E58
0x00461D34
0x00455471
0x7C3428ED"

Oh yeah, and I've already deleted TOS.txt, no help.
