Request for testing and information on Random Crashes

Hey everyone!

We've been trying to get as much information about the random crashes that happen in the game and we need your help in narrowing it down. Could you guy post on this thread the (exact) number of crashes your getting and a brief explanation of how it happened and where you were at the time. Please reserve this thread to discussing the CTD's please. To help you along, the posts should go like this

As you go through you can edit your own thread to include more information please. This allows easier sorting of the problem for us instead of going through 18 posts from one person saying they crashed again. Example below

Last thing I was doing before a crash:
1. at the linking screen from the city to Relto
2. in the neighborhood with 10 other people dancing about and doing emotes

Just to help you along with this test I am going to state that we believe one of our major bugs is related to physics. Which is about everything in the game. Some things the Physics engine covers are

1. keeping avatars above the floor
2. Tracking distances between objects
3. interactions with objects / puzzles / people
4. Collisions
5. objects interactions with each other, like cones moving along the ground or hitting a wall. Baskets etc

There are a number of other things the Physics engine processes but the short list can give you some hints of how to narrow it down.

I think we have enough information for now. We are now analyzing all the data and have come up with test cases to work off of. I think we may have found one issue related to linking thanks to you all. Hopefully we can get a fix ready and out to you all by Friday. we are checking some others out also. Thanks for all the help explorers!

hours played 12-8 : session 1: 15 minutes; Session 2: 1 hr and 15 minutes; Session 3:1 hour, 40 minutes; Session 4: 45 minutes; Session 5: 2 Minutes
Total hours in a row - 3 hours, 57 minutes
Last thing I was doing before a crash:
1. attempting First link out from Nexus to GoG Hood - crashed right after pressing center nexus button - alone - this was an Error 5, Disconnect;Protocol: Gameserver

2, 3, and 4 below were CTDs without an accompanying error message.

2. Visiting Sharpers office, trying to use the scope - one other player had just linked out
3. Leaping into the void after getting second bahro pole (Eders) - alone
4. Linking from own hood to Relto via relto book - 2 other players in the hood, sitting quietly

5. Attempting to launch game - froze at loading, then CTD Error 6, Disconnect, Protocol: Auth Server

hours played: 3 hours

Last thing I was doing before a crash:

1. linking from my home hood to relto - 6 others in the hood, all active, coning, running, jumping, chatting
2. Shared my relto book, arrived in a frozen state, other person linked out, still frozen in place, used relto book to try and re-relto back in, crashed on linkin.

hours played: 1 hours + 1.5 hours + 5 minutes +5 minutes= 2 hours 40 minutes

1. no crash - Completed entire Gahreesen journey alone from start to finish with no crashes and no problems whatsoever! I WALKED off the bahro cave platform into the void.
2. CTD - I completed the entire Kadish journey with no crashes. I returned to the Bahro cave (Kadish) to begin returning the pillars. I JUMPED into the void and immediately CTD'd.
3. CTD -with stackdump - Entering Kemo cave to retrieve pole - crashed while linking to bahro cave
4. CTD - Error 5, Connection failed, protocol: Game Server - WALKED into void after returning Kemo Pole; crashed while panic linking

hours played: .5 hours + .25 hours=45 minutes

1. Joining hood with new avatar - just clicked on hood book in hosts relto, alone, and crashed on linking
2. Linking out to Relto from GoG book - 8 others in the hood, mostly chatting

hours played 12-8: 2 1/2 (total play time)
Last thing I was doing before latest crash: Attempting to close the fumerol in Gira by the rocks where you get zoomed over. (in game 10 min.)
Also: 1. Attempting to touch journey cloth on back of Zandi Trailer while he was talking (in game 3 min.)
2.Attempting to touch journey cloth in ink room in Gahreesen (in game
15 min.)
3.Attempting to link to Kadish Gallery (in game 15 min.)
4.Attempting to link in Nexus (in game 10 min.)
5.Attempting to link to Takotah Rooftop (in game 20 min.)

Time played 12-9 FOR CTD#1: 2 minutes
Last thing I was doing before a crash:
Touched Gahreesen [hood book] to collect KI.

Time Played 12-9 for CTD#2: 90 minutes
Last thing I was doing before crash:
Touched Gahreesen book [in pillar] to collect it and start Age.

Last thing I was doing before a crash:
Three of them were from linking to the DRC neighborhood from the Nexus. It seemed I finished loading, then I got a CTD. No link-in sound, but the book and spinny thing was gone.
One was when linking to Eder Gira from my Relto. Loading seemed to finish, then CTD.
The other one was while linking to Relto from jumping off the cliff in relto. Once again, loading seemed to finish, then CTD.

Last thing before crash:
Linking to Relto from GoG Bevin. Same behavior as above.

Last thing before crash:
Falling from the orange bahro cave, panic linked, and immediate CTD, no loading screen or anything.

Last thing I was doing before a crash: I just entered the Bahrocave in Gahreesen, then the loading screen disappeared, I could hear Yeesha starting her speech (the screen was always black) - then some scratching sounds and I succesfully entered my desktop-age :shock:

1- Having joined a new hood, crashed linking back to The Meeting Place hood from Nexus.

the first time I ctd I was linking from hood to garrason had just started playing the game (going to get KI)
the 2nd time I was linking from balcony above the hood to relto (I also had the fireflys with me)
12-12 cdt I had just tried to go from the city to the nexus couldn't get nexus to work linked to relto, and tried to link to my hood

1. after about half an hour of play i tried linking from my Relto to my native Neighboorhoud; crash immediatly after touching linking panel
2. Trying to link from a 'foreign' neighbourhood to my Relto after about 2,5 hour of play in total; again just after touching linking panel.

Number of crashes 12-9: 0
Play time 2 h 15 m

Number of crashes 12-10: 1
Type of crash: kNetErr6 (sorry did not note which one)
Time playing: 3 h 50 m in total
1. when trying to jump the railing on the right just outside the Kadish Vault

1. when standing up after some time spent seated on top of hood fountain
2. When jumping from the bahro cave to go back to my relto

Number of CTD Dated 12-12 : 1
Hours played: 4 hours
Last thing I was doing before the crash:
1. linking from a friend relto to my relto

PS: I did not include in these data any computer reset/reboot when in relto, networ errors or stackdumps as, from my understanding, we are supposed to talk only about our CTDs:

last thing done: linking to the hood, linking from kemo to gira, just walking in Kadish

note: I brought at least 4 people to each age while completing them.
note3: most crashes occur after about the 6th link, or when I attempt to link after playing for more than an hour.

1. Linking from the balcony in the hood back to Relto. Now when trying to log back in I get Authentication Failed. No Response From Server.
2, Linking from someone else's Gareeshan to my Relto, I immediately CTD.

1. After completing game, linked to city, then used city terminal. Decided to go to relto and after touching linking pannel avi decided to link to desktop instead.

Type of crashes: When linking
Time playing: 3.75 hours
1. Alan got stuck at the Bahro stone to the spy room. He Relto'd out. Someone else successfully linked to the spy room. I then tried and also got stuck. Could not move and was not linking. So I relto'd out and detored to the desktop age .

Leaving heek game
Time playing: 3.75 hours
1. after loosing to Sorceress, I stood up at the heek table and crashed. I was playing through the GT program.

Number of crashes 12-13: 1
Left closet and proceeded to link to nexus, did the usual.
